FAMILY DOLLAR DISHONEST AND UNFAIR EMPLOYER DOBSON North Carolina
ON MAY 25 2006 WHILE UNLOADING A TRUCK AT 34 WEEKS PREGNANT WITH TWINS I SLIPPED AND FELL RESULTING IN AN INJURY TO MY RIGHT LEG. WELL I COULD NOT WALK MUCH LESS FINISH UNLOADING THE TRUCK. WITH MYSELF BEING THE STORE MANAGER I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO CONTACT MY DISTRICT MANAGER. WHO HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT I WAS A LIABILTY TO THE STORE AND THAT REGARDLESS OF THE INJURY I COULD NOT HOLD THE STORE RESPONSIBLE. SHE MASE IT SOUND LIKE IF I WENT TO THE DOCTOR ON MY OWN WHILE I WAS SUPPOSE TO BE AT WORK SHE WOULD FIRE ME. SHE TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO THINK ABOUT THE STORE AND SINCE I WAS A LIABILITY I SHOULD GO AHEAD AND TAKE MY MEDICAL LEAVE.
WELL LIKE I EXPLAINED TO HER THE DOCTOR SAID I WAS HAVING A HEALTHY PREGNANCY AND THAT I WAS FINE TO CONTINUE TO WORK FULL TIME.
WELL ON JUNE 2 2006 LOSS PREVENTION CAME INTO MY STORE AND SAID THAT I WAS ALLOWING EMPLOYEES TO WORK OFF THE CLOCK. MEANING THAT I WOULD HAVE SOMEONE FOLLOW ME TO THE BANK AFTER CLOSING TO MAKE DEPOSITS WHICH I WAS TRAINED TO DO SO. AND BY HAVING EMPLOYEES WHO WAS SCHEDULED TO WORK TRUCK WAIT UNTIL THE TRUCK ARRIVED TO CLOCK IN WHICH I WAS ALSO TRAINED TO DO. THOSE WERE THINGS THAT WAS TAUGHT TO ME AS AN HOURLY EMPLOYEE. THERE WAS ONE INCIDENT THAT AN EMPLOYEE FAILED TO CLOCK IN AND I FORGOT TO KEY IN HIS TIME BUT I DID E-MAIL PAYROLL SO THAT HE WOULD BE PAID FOR HIS TIME. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THEY WERE FISHING FOR ANY EXCUSE TO GET RID OFF ME SINCE THET FELT LIKE I WAS A LIABILITY. IT SHOULD HAVE FELL BACK ON THEM FOR POOR TRAINING BUT OF COURSE THE RICH NEVER BLAME THEIRSELF. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE AT FAULT.
