Family Dollar Ripped Off Vacation Elkhart Indiana
I worked for Family Dollar for 9 months,After 6 months of service I was to get 3 days vacation,I had requested May 11th 12th and 13th off but my District Manager said I couldnt have those days because another manager was on vacation and we were short of help,infact I had to send some of my people over to help out at that store including myself.
On may 23rd I had two employees get fired for breaking company rules,well on may 23rd my District Manager came into my store at 8.50pm after I had worked 13 hours and ask to talk to me,he said remember last week and I said yes (refering to the two that were fired),he said well corporate wasnt very happy and I said ok,he then said they called me today and said I had to come in and fire you I said ok and I left after sayibg how can I be fired for what some one else did,I had never been wrote uo or repremanded in any way,
Well I filed for my unemployment and I got it I had to report my vacation coming to me of 3 days because it was a benefit that I had coming to me,Well Family Dollar did not pay me my vacation they said I didnt give notice and I didnt leave the company in good standing well if I knew I was going to get fired I would of gave them a two week notice,can they keep something I worked for they had stipulations I had to be there 6 months and I was there over 6 months

It seems to be the new YUPPIE trend, herd animals that they are,. to rip people off their well-earned vacation and the pay that may or may not go with it. When one does it, they all go along, like lemmings to their death and fools to their folly! It happed to me at Allied Security and it happened to a friend of mine at Executive Security Systems, Inc. in Austin,Texas! I hope someday there is a trend in today's cutthroat business environment where people like Sam Walton will come back and work the hell out of you but PAY you for it! These people don't want to pay you anything! They think that you are such a desperate and ignorant peon that you will work for food or next to nothing. Ans it's becoming like this all over the world!

in all my years I have been in retail if you are terminated you usually dont get vacation time paid out. I quit earlier this month from FDS in Indianapolis, and I didnt give a notice and didnt get paid out. I too was never written up, but in a short time span was going to be terminated by my DM and LP for something they assumed and couldnt prove, so unlike you I have some advance notice....but in answering, they can keep the 3 days....but you should know, that with this company you'dnever be able to take it any way...
