Family Dollar all work, hardly a break and treated with no respect Johnstown Ohio
I had just got hired at family dollar in johnstown, ohio. They had me as part time and automatically put me at 36 hours a week. At first, my manager told me that i would only work 15-20 hours a week, and only work evenings and weekends. Well i was working during the daytime and evening. They had me work the first day for nine and a half hours, with only a couple bathroom breaks and only 5 minutes to eat.
The next day was only 10 minutes to eat, and the assistant manager named landon would treat me with no respect. He would talk sarcastic, talk down to me, and yelled at me for sitting down for a couple minutes when there were no customers. He stated the policy says the associates must walk around and do something, and said well welcome to labor. He also stated that i should learn to bring advil and pain medicine for my back and feet to work instead of letting me have a proper break.
He would listen to his ipod at work and ask what i did wrong when i needed help. I had only worked there two weeks and he got angry when i asked him about something twice. So much for help and being new, there was no respect at all and i was having to do all the recovery for the whole store, while he gets to sit in the office, and the manager stated that he sits in her office a lot.
Also the manager stated that the other store clerk usually took 10 minute breaks every two hours but they had me hardly have a break, and i was getting dehydrated a lot. Landon, the assistant manager acted like he was the manager and would boss me around more than the actual manager of the store. So here is my story and i quit yesterday, and stated that they had treated me unfair and wrong.
