hi, i am a former worker of a family dollar

was working for company for 4 months started as a part-time worker, after one month was asked to go run a store on a temp basis as manager and agreed. i felt i did my job for the 3 months i was there and was given a good store report after 2 months by my district manager, and was told by other people some customers how much better the store looked.

will after 3 months of doing this job and thinking i would be come manager of the store i found out someone else was being trained for my store, and was given the training i was suppose to have, when i questioned the dm about this he denied it and this went on for about 2 more weeks until the girl was fully trained then he came in and told me he was going to tranfer me back to the store i started out at, with a lot less hrs and money.

i thought this was very unfair and i didn't agree to the transfer, told him i felt it was worth more than that for all the work i had done, and that i was very disappointed because he knew i was trying to prove myself for this position and had had done so as for as i was concerned.

all of this was done in a matter of 3 months with 4 employees and we were able to make a big difference in this store, had no write ups in a bad way only one good i put in at least by 52 hrs a week sometimes 60 but i have a family and would not agree to working any other hrs and i think that is why he didn't give me the position he wanted someone who was going to be there 24 and 7 and i didn't agree.

i am not sorry for leaving this company just wish other managers could do something about this dm he is very demanding and expects things to happen overnight with no man hrs given to the store. very loud with managers and will address problems in front of customers if he has to which i think is very unperfessional.

thank you for listening,

any comments let me know

You knew it was temporary

Your post says you were told at the beginning that the assignment was temporary. what makes you think that they hadn't had this person picked out at the time but for some reason couldn't start right away.
