I was talking to the DM & his Boss when they came to the store. They refused to give me my raise even though it was in the contract that it couldn't exceed 90 days. They said the company couldn't afford to give raises! It was in the contract to give me one before 90 days. It's a contract. They also said I didn't apply for my benefits in time so I couldn't get them. I filled out all the paper work the first day I was hired. It was the Managers fault for not sending it in & I end up losing! hmm, not sure how that is fair. All said & done I quit & was offered a much easier & less stressfull job at a Convenience store for more money! Ironic isn't it? Now I don't have to bust my butt & go home exausted for less money :) If I had of done some checking on the company before I was hired I would of been aware of the problems. With all the lawsuits they are going through right now I would believe they have money problems. The Managers also work way to many over time hours for free & the Company is just not worth the trouble you have to go through to work there. It is a choice though that people make by complaining about the problems and still stay employed there, haha. Take care & thanks for listening to my rambling.

Wow! It seems strange to me that you had such a bad experience with your benefits. When my husband and I both worked for Family Dollar all of these benefits were offered to us. My husband actually got his first raise in less than 90 days. I don't remember for sure how long it was before I got my raise, but it couldn't have been more than 90 days because I had it before I transferred. Don't feel too bad though, the Insurance really sucked and wasn't even worth it at all! I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. I wonder if it was just the Manager you were under. Did you try calling Corporate or talking to the DM?
