Family Subscriptions, On 4/29/09 at about 9:30pm 2 people knocked on my door to solicite magazines. We refused but after they said we could cancle in 3 buisness days we wrote them a check. We cancled the next day but the money was still taken from our account. I can't find how to locate the company or the guy that ripped us off. we haven't recieved any magazines either. On friday night on 4/29, 2 people (a male and female in their early 20's) knocked on my door saying they were saleing magazine subscriptions. My boyfriend and I said we didn't have any money, but he said that he would loose his job if he didn't sale 2 more magazines. He continued to tell us that we didn't even have to make a purchase, all we had to do was write him 2 checks for the magazine amount, and if we canclled the order within 3 buisness days, he would still get his points, and we wouldn't have any money taken from our account.
We agreed to help him out, so we wrote him the checks and he left. The next day I went immediately to the post office and sent the copy of my checks written and filled out the cancellation paperwork. I even paid extra to have it shipped over-night to ensure it got there on-time. I tried calling the 1800 number that he told me I could call to cancel the subscriptions, but couldn't get through to anyone or even find the company that he said he was working for. A few days later, I checked my bank statement and the money was withdrawn out of my account. My bank has not been able to find me any information on the company or where the check was cashed. He said his company was FAMILY SUBSCRIPTIONS.

this is a scam, you were scammed and will never see your money. EVER. This happened alot at my school (DU), just south of you in Denver. They started issuing trespassing warrants to all solicitors, many were arrested. I got a few at my house last year, was told the same old story, points for trip to cancun. Its all a scam. Never by magazines from these people unless you absolutly know for sure its legit.
