Thank you for a wonderful mothers day present you crappy Fantastic Sams! I went in to have my hair highlighted and what I recieved was the color and cut from hell! I had some places in my hair in about 1- 1/2 inch sections where the top half was orange, the bottom half was brown and my highlights were a joke!

They were a light blond with a greenish tint. I spent 4 hours in the chair to get this done and then had to fork over $125.95! I was not only pissed of but horrified!

The next morning I went to a totally different salon (I was not going back to any Sams)and I ended up spending another 3 hours in the chair plus spent a additional $70.00 to have my hair fixed so it looked even some what decent!

I found out who the owner was and have called her so far (and plan to continue to call) 3 times and left messages, the result, she has been avoiding me and won't speak to me. A employee who works under her suggested I contact the BBB. Shows what her employees think of her. I will never again go to Fantastic Sams because they just plain suck and don't give a crap about customers or making them happy. They are a waste of money and time.

as an employee of a fantastic sams in western new york,i feel ripped off and all my co stylists feel the same way! the problem is tipping. ive done 5 perms this month and 4 of them didnt have the decency to leave me a tip!i go the extra mile to make sure the customers are comfortable and happy after the service. i did a wash and set,2 haircuts and a long hair perm and got $3.05 in tips for this! this stinginess in my opinion is why stylists rush ppl and dont do anything extra for the guests and im going to start doing this. its pretty sad you can wait tables and make more money. ppl need to know we do a lot of work for low pay and need the tips to survive! on top of that,its a slap in the face to be stiffed 50% of the time.

I'm very sorry that you had an unsatisfactory experience at a Fantastic Sams salon, but I do congratulate Dana for her rebuttal and support what she says 100%. It sounds like you unfortunately went to a poorly operated salon with unhappy stylists. I do regret you had that experience because their lack of performance affects our success. I would like to add that most all of the Fantastic Sams salons are independently owned and operated. The same is true, however, for most any franchise operation (i.e. McDonalds, Holiday Inn, Dairy Queen, etc.). Therefore, you can, and probably have, been to a clean, friendly McDonalds as well as a filthy, unfriendly McDonalds. The same goes for most hotels. The standards of customer care and quality of any franchised operation is established, maintained, and enforced by the owners - not the staff, or even the manager. My wife and I own three Fantastic Sams salons (Brighton, Northglenn, and Longmont, CO). In such a competitive industry, I firmly believe that we must maintain higher standards not only than other Fantastic Sams salons, but ANY salon. My salons are successful because I enforce higher standards than my competition and my stylists are aligned with my goals and beliefs. This doesn't mean we are perfect. Yes, we screw up, albeit very infrequently. But, when we do, we fess up to it. Either my wife or I personally contact the customer and make it right - at any cost. Again, I am VERY sorry you had an unhappy experience. I don't blame you for never going back. But, please don't make us all suffer the consequences. If you are ever in the areas of my salons, I would be happy to prove my point. Out of over 960 salons in the Denver/Boulder area, only 12 are members of the Denver/Boulder BBB. MY THREE SALONS REPRESENT 25% OF THE MEMBERSHIP AND ARE THE ONLY CHAIN SALON MEMBERS. BTW - Dana, please look me up if you are ever out this way!

I take offense to all this bad negativity towards every shop. I have never worked for a better company with so many oppertunities. We care very much about our clients for those really great if even 1.00 tips those wonderful clients give us. out of over 500 clints a week if not more we hardly ever get any complaints in the salon, we have stylist there for over 13 years and they have clients there coming to only them from there first month there. We have the most talented and fastest stylist you will ever meet. Our management will bend over backwards for you and if someone dosnt measure up to our clients standards they do not stay to long. We are there for our pays of course, who isnt at work for a paycheck, but its the clients that put it in our pocket. So wether its they have been coming for years and they are like family or its their first time there we treat everyone the best we can! Please keep in mind we are only human and things do happen, but we all are not as bad as some people make us out to be. We also are our own people so please do not judge everyones talents by the few bad stylist you have encountered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, A VERY HAPPY AND TALENTED FANTASTIC SAMS STYLIST P.S. When you walk in our shop you can tell everyone there loves their job and takes pride in what they do.
