Hello,
My name is John B. Farmers has done the same exact thing to me. I called my agent in Medford OR, Chris Babbini and asked why my rates had jumped almost double. I had recieved a renewal in july of 08 for a payment of $ 260 i figured it was to pay for 6 months since my insurance was $70 a month full coverage on my van. The next month i got another bill stating i owed another paynment. So i called my agent Cris babbini. His wife answered and told me he would get back to me, after i told her or asked why had my insurance gone up. And no one told me ? I told her if they couldn't get it back to what it was before the hiked the rates to cancel. I didn't hear from him for a month. So i sent him an email telling him to cancel. Sense i was tired of playing phone tag. If only my i had that email. I now have been sent to collections. The same company as you. I owe $82 they say ! I don't have the bus fair stubs to prove i didn't drive until December when i aquired insurance with Geico. I tried to contact Chris Babbini but he quit Farmers Insurance. I had called another office and the told me i needed to speak to my agent. Who doesn't work there any longer. As you when i saw the notices i round filed them, because i cancelled why would i open the letters. Finally i got sick of getting them. I found out why. Chris Babbini never cancelled my policy... Now i am supposed to pay $82 dollars and a bad credit wrap, for insurance i didn't use. O i am paralyzed and a paraplegic and it snowed november and December here in Portland OR and i couldn't go anywere during those 2 months because wheelchairs do not roll in snow... So yes being strong armed because they can. Topping it off the agent nolonger works there !!!!!

Hello, and thanks for reading my update concerning Farmer's Insurance fraudulent billing practices. After 5+ months of getting jerked around by the scumbags that work for this pathetic insurance company, I was forced to file a complaint with the Illinois Dept of Insurance last week. I received a phone call from a Farmer's Insurance representative today. She told me that the phone call would be recorded (ooh.. scary..). She had 2 questions, for those of you who find themselved in a similar situation with these pricks: 1. "Sir, when you decided not to renew your 6 automobile policies with Farmer's Insurance, did you send a certified letter to your agent telling him?.. MY ANSWER: NO, maam, I simply picked up the phone, called his office, and told him. That's why we have telephones. 2. "Sir, did you get insurance with a new carrier?".... MY ANSWER: NO, maam, I made the decision, as an adult, not to reinsure my cars since they are all pleasure vehicles (SPORTSCARS), and since I don't drive them in the winter, I don't need the insurance. And why do I need to explain myself to Farmer's anyway? WHAT ARE YOU ASSHOLES, MY MOTHER?.. GO f**k YOURSELVES. MY CARS ARE ALL PAID OFF IN FULL, AND I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT WITH THEM. YOU KNOW, WHEN SOMEONE CALLS YOU AND TELLS YOU THEY ARE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN DOING BUSINESS WITH YOU, AND THEN CALLS YOU A SECOND TIME AFTER RECEIVING A "RENEWAL NOTICE", AND THEN DOESN'T PAY FOR CONTINUED COVERAGE WHEN THE POLICY EXPIRES AT "12:01AM" ON THE DAY COVERAGE ENDS, ANY NORMAL PERSON OR COMPANY WOULD THINK THAT THEY HAVE LOST THAT PERSON AS A CUSTOMER... FARMER'S INSURANCE SUCKS.. I'M GOING BACK TO STATE FARM. JOE

After just having submitted my original statement about Farmer's Insurance and their shady business practices, I just found other similar complaints as mine on RIPOFFREPORT.COM http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/276/RipOff0276445.htm http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/150/RipOff0150634.htm http://ripoffreport.com/reports/0/209/RipOff0209119.htm I would love to see the inter-office memorandum floating around the offices of the agents and corporate officers outlining how to EXTORT money from customers, under the threat of credit damage. ... that's a good one, guys.. well done...
