Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I ordered an iPhone microphone/headphone adapter, midrange, with 2-3 day shipping requested, for a total amount of $21.70 from the business' website Fastmac.com. After the item failed to ship in a timely fashion before it was required for travel, I purchased an equivalent locally and contacted Fastmac on 1/28/08 requesting that the order be cancelled. That same day, a representative responded and informed me that the order had been cancelled and that a refund would be issued. Over the next several days, additional correspondence established that the refund would take three weeks to issue (and should therefore have posted to my PayPal.com account by 2/18/08). Two days after Fastmac employee Gary Parks informed me that the order had been cancelled and that a refund would be processed, Fastmac shipped the order anyway. As I do not keep unsolicited merchandise sent through the mail, the package was thrown away and I do not have the item.

Fastmac, however, no longer has any intent of abiding by its promise to refund my payment for a confirmed-cancelled order and is now demanding return of unsolicited merchandise sent through the US Postal Service and is holding my funds despite having confirmed the order cancellation almost a month ago and despite having been twice informed that the unsolicited package was thrown away. Due to the failure to issue a promised refund after a confirmed order cancellation, and the attempt to hold me financially responsible for unsolicited merchandise through the US mail, I am convinced that Fastmac has no intent of carrying out its original promise to credit my account and instead desires to hold its customers responsible for its mistakes and wishes to hold me financially responsible for unsolicited merchandise sent through the US mail, a violation of Title 39, United States Code, Section 3009 (Postal Reorganization Act of 1970).

Fastmac's mistakes are not my concern nor should they be. A cancelled order is a cancelled order. I have attempted resolution via email, repeatedly requested a refund with the sales representative who processed my cancellation the same day it was requested, and am also pursuing a claim with Paypal, where Fastmac has repeatedly responded to my complaint by posting tracking numbers for a package I no longer have and which I am not responsible for due to the order having been cancelled. It has yet to issue the refund that is now significantly overdue. I have also contacted the BBB, my bank (as I paid via credit card/paypal), and will be filing a mail fraud complaint since Fastmac has repeatedly refused to make things right, offering up the same unacceptable (and illegal) excuses to hold onto my goods and continues to demand thrown-away unsolicited goods in violation of federal law.

Fastmac needs to promptly issue a full refund and accept responsibility for its error.
