Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Last week my mother and I went to have a "psychic" reading. It was $50 each, so $100. When we first walked in a woman sitting on the couch said she was waiting for a ride and that she just had a reading...eventually we found out that she works there and lives upstairs from the business.

Anyway, mom's reading was about 7 minutes and mine was about 3 minutes, for $100? All they did was ask questions and they did not have a clue what they were doing. (I have heard that these women are gypsies.) During my moms reading the woman told her that she has a curse on her and that she could remove it if my mom paid her $100 dollars extra. She would also have to come back once a week at $100 a pop to work on the curse. A curse? come on!

We left after our "readings" and decided to go back after 10 minutes to get our money back. We got our money back but I think people should be aware of these rip offs!

I am sorry to hear your experience was not satisfactory, however I would like to say that my boyfriend and I had a fun and entertaining experience; this was I think in January of 2005- the year they had the freak snowstorm that dumped about 3+feet of snow. We had just arrived in Salem early that afternoon checked into the Hawthorne Hotel, and decided to start exploring right away 1st place we saw was Fatima's we looked at their hours for the day and since they were closed on weekends we decided to go in right then. I entered 1st and went to the waiting area and made myself comfortable on a beautiful white leather sofa and there was another woman there waiting; so I asked her if she lived near by she said yes, then I asked if she was waiting for a reading and she said, oh I just had one I'm waiting for a ride (which sounds similar to your experience), then I asked her if she liked living in Salem, she said yes most the time; shortly thereafter she left. Now my boyfriend enters at this point I get up and move to a cozy wicker chair on the other side of the room he sits opposite me we exchange small talk and then admire the many interesting and beautiful decorations throughout the room. A woman enters and asks if I am here for a reading I say yes definitely and then she asks him and he says yes, (all this time we have not said our names or spoken to each other as if we new each other)(I wanted them to tell me who I was to see how good they were) then the same lady asks me if I felt anything while sitting in the chair I was in and I said, well I don't know about that but when I first entered the room I thought I saw a person standing next to this chair by the window, looking at me and I looked away for a second to read a sign that pointed me to this room to wait and when I looked back there was no one there. that is why I chose to sit here I was hoping to pick up who it was. (maybe that sounds strange but I am very receptive to spiritual energy and to connect with one while there would have made the experience even better) She then seemed surprised and said that many people said they felt a presence in that area of the room but few have ever said they saw someone and then I told her I felt that the spirit or energy had left through the closed window. Sun was shining brightly through the window where I saw the figure standing so I know that what I saw was not a projection to fool me. 5 minutes later the lady returns to ask me to come in and my beau comes with me and then we say oh we're together. We want a couples reading. The reading cost $100 dollars and I was happy to say the woman reading for us did not ask us our names or anything about us, she was able to tell us about each other things that no one else knew; sensitive details that never left our bedroom and a few things that may have been pure speculation but, hey she was exact about everything else so I took the future guidance with a grain of salt. (I knew about the women who lived upstairs because I asked who all the ladies were whom were coming and going while we were waiting) The only thing I did not like was the woman doing our reading kept saying "use guys" alot (during the second half of the reading), regarding us as a couple, instead of saying "you two" or even "you guys" and the more she said that while speaking the more I wanted to end the session because she was starting to sound phony. Yet- it seemed like she couldn't stop talking because everytime I decided that I was satisfied with what she had already said and felt I got what I paid for (and was prepared to leave) she would say wait I have more to tell you. I didn't complain, but was surprised that she had so much to say, our reading lasted about 45 minutes. Before we left she offered to do a much more in depth reading and bless us over a period of 6 months for $1,000 dollars payable in two installments, to which we said no we don't live in Massachusetts and she said, that's okay I can still do the reading and send a copy to you in the mail and pray for you and bless you from here and this is when she asked for our names and address and then our phone number because she felt worried for us and would bless us for 6 months and call to see how we were doing. Upon leaving I was thinking yeah sure and pitch us a $1,000 dollar reading again. Well months later she did call and asked how we were and if we felt anything in the last few months. I told her I thought I did feel something at first but had not felt anything unusual recently and then she asked if we had changed our mind about the reading and I said no we are quite happy with the reading you did in person and are not interested in anything more, thank you but no. She then wished us well and said goodbye and we haven't heard from her since. This is how I see it you have to regard readings as entertainment, just for fun or you will regret the money you spent- it's no different than going into a casino, you plan to lose "x" amount of dollars and do NOT spend anymore, spend only what you feel comfortable basically giving away, "don't go broke over it" and if you walk away with more than you had (be it money or an enlightening experience) then you had a good day, if not then you just spent money to be entertained accept that or simply don't go to places like that. After all how many people entertain themselves by playing the lottery? Very few people win but lots of people keep on playing. Overall, if I were in your shoes I would have done the same thing 3&7 minute readings at $50 a piece for someone to ask you a bunch of questions before they can tell you anything is the sign of someone who is either phony or wishing they were good at reading but are not, hope they didn't quit their day job, but occasionally you find someone who is in touch and you will sense it as soon as you meet them.
