Norris Furniture in Salina Kansas went out of business in December 2011. Feldkamps Furniture in Manhattan Kansas brought their old and discontinued furniture to Norris's and put it in their name to sell, which is at best sketchy, and possibly illegal.

We bought a couch and two recliners and were assured by Brandy, the sales person, that there was a full guarantee on the furniture, as it was brand new and made by Berkline who would be more than happy to fix it if anything were to go wrong with it. Surprise! Berkline went out of business a month before we bought it. There never was any kind of guarantee. For the amount of money we spent on it, it was not worth it. We do have a problem now, and tried to contact Feldkamps in Manhattan Kansas. We were told they would not help us.

I'm thinking, false advertising, lying to the customers, complete and total ripoff, taking the money and running...there's a few more, but I won't say it. So what recourse do we have? I see we are not the only people who Feldkamps has ripped off. It's posted on the web. I should have gone to another store. You can't trust anyone anymore.

The problem with the couch that wouldn't work was finally fixed by my husband. The store put on a new part so the mechanism would finally go from recline to upright, but the back of the seat would not stay up! The couch had to be next to a wall or the back would fall over. After $1500, I was not going to let it go. I always spoke nicely to the manager, never raised my voice, and all I got were "promises" to come fix it. He finally stopped taking our calls and would not be in the store when I went in.

Where the back comes up to be locked in to sit upright, there was supposed to be a notch in the metal for the piece to rest in. There was no notch. So we got a grinder and put one in. If he had been like he was supposed to be to a customer, he would have fixed it RIGHT in the first place. It wasn't that difficult. Some people work harder at not doing the right thing than just doing it in the first place. I will spread the word where ever I can so people will NOT shop at Feldkamp's. Do not waste your money. They will not back up their products. They will ignore you and let your furniture fall apart in pieces before anything will be done.

This couch was not abused in any way to cause this problem. It started right after we bought it. Then when he said he fixed it, it worked worse. He said he knew what he was doing. Maybe with a knife and fork, but not with our couch. He knew nothing. Buyer Beware!
