Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My grandmother went into Tucson Fiat and fell in love with a car. During price negotiations she had a seizure and needed to leave but was unable to drive herself. The dealers there got her food and water and when she seemed okay they pulled out the paper work and got her to sign. My grandma was confused and kept asking if the price was right and if they could explain again but slower. They wouldn’t answer her questions directly and whenever she asked about the various discounts she was supposedly getting they just kept saying "oh it's all in there". So she traded in her Chrysler to them and went home in a Fiat. When I go over the paperwork with her a couple days later we furiously realized she had been tricked.

We went to the dealership to solve things and they refused to change anything or cancel the contract. Despite the seizure the sales manager Sean said that she knew what she was doing and chose to sign the contract. My grandma called her son-in-law who is a car dealer in Tennessee and faxed him the papers. He took them to his friend at a Fiat dealership and the friend agreed the paperwork was not right, they had added upgrades that she did not agree, they did not include all the discounts she was promised, and to top it off the friend checked the VIN number of the car on the agreement and found out the original sticker price of the car was LESS than the price they charged her on the agreement. We contacted the sales manager about this who responded “that is the price she agreed to pay”.

After realizing the dealership was not going to work with us my grandma called the bank that was in charge of her auto loan and explained what happened and they were aw struck. So the bank disapproved the loan and said they would not give Fiat any money. The GM Karl soon called my grandma and offered a lower price for the car which my grandma she refused. When she told him about the bank he angrily threatened to call bank after bank until she was approved for a loan and that he would take the money and she would keep the car. After a talk with BBB and Fiat Corporate (Fiat of North America), Fiat of Tucson suddenly changed their mind and called her to tell her they will cancel the contract and giver her back the Chrysler.

After they finally canceled the contract and we get her Chrysler back we drive 5 minutes down the road thinking this fiasco is over, only to realized the convertible top of the car will no longer function and won't lock so there is a half inch gap between the roof and windows.  The car cannot be driven for fear that the convertible top might fly up and snap off. Before Fiat was holding her car hostage it was at the Chrysler dealership for routine maintenance. Now the car is at the Chrysler dealership again being diagnosed for the damage and what can be done. Since the car went straight from Chrysler to Fiat and then back it is easy to trace who broke the convertible top. Now we are contacting lawyers to figure out the next step.
