A door-2-door representative for Fidelity Readers Service, Inc. arrived at my doorstep around the dinner hour. She was EXTREMELY persistent and relentless in her pursuit of a sale. At the time, I was, & currently still remain, unemployed. Needless to say, I was in no position to be ordering a magazine subscription, and advised her accordingly. She went on to explain she was desperately trying to stay #1 in the contest and asked if I could help her out by doing the following:

#1) place an order

#2) simply call within 3 days to cancel and there would be no charge whatsoever

Sounded simple enough. W R O N G !! About an hour after she left my home, I began to feel suspicious about the ease in which she pleaded me to "help her out". Consequently, I called the phone number on the back of the receipt and advised the representative [female-name unknown], I wanted to CANCEL my order. She tried to get me to reconsider, but I would not concede. I further informed her I was going to place a "stop payment" on the check as a safeguard, in case the cancellation failed to reach the appropriate people. She said there was no need to spend the money for a "stop payment", as everything would be taken care of prior to processing of the order. I was doubtful, hence, I followed through with the cancel payment anyway.

On Feb. 26, 2006, I received a notice from Central Credit Corporation that my account was referred to them for collection.

It showed Fidelity Readers Service, Inc. as the Creditor, the original debt amount of $172.00, an additional charge of $25 for Fee/Interest, for a grand total of $197.00!! UNBELIEVABLE!!

So, in addition to fraudulent sales, now they are going to try and TRASH MY CREDIT??!! Like Hell! I will fight this thing to the very end, and I will be R E L E N T L E S S....just like their sales rep! My advice to anyone considering to do business with Fidelity Readers Service........DON'T! They are dishonest, sleazy and under-handed. They are in hot pursuit of their next sucker-2-be.
