I too was scammed by this company. I was unable to get the proper help from the BBB. I was unable to get a refund for the $2500 I spent for a $400 computer. They state that you will receive the computer within 3months of continued payments which are deducted from your bank account, even though I asked for the payments not to be deducted until I could review the contract. After 3months, I still didn't receive the computer. They stated that I missed payments.

I went to my bank to get the statements to show the uninterupted payments and was then told I would have to wait another 3months because the information that I sent them was not received.

I mailed it to them and faxed it to them and sent the fax verification but to no avail. After 6months I called to find out when my computer would be mailed and was told that they sent me information that I needed to verify my address and other information that they already had. I never received such information. They stated they would send it to me by express mail.

A few weeks later I still don't have anything. After losing my temper and making other threats, I finally received the packet. Now they state they never got it back from me so now I have to wait until they send it out again. They are still sticking by this bogus no refund policy. I finally recieved the computer after all money was paid and 13 months have passed.

I just phoned today which it has now been 14 1/2 months since this nightmare started and I still don't have the printer or software. Each time I call, I am told it is on backorder and I should have it in about 2weeks. I called today (10/22/03) and was told to call back on 10/27/03 to find out about the status on the printer. I have asked for my money to be returned and I can go and purchase my own printer but...no refund!

I also asked 2weeks ago to speak to a manager or supervisor. Each time I have asked I have been told "He just stepped out. I can leave a message for him to return your call and you can expect a call within 1 to 24 hours." Needless to say the call never came. Please get the word out to everyone you know not to fall for this scam. I always considered myself to be a bright person but I question it now because I fell for this!

Financing Alternatives (scam?) ..they have covered their own ass

I have been reading over a few complaints about Financing Alternatives. I am in no way defending the way they do business, BUT, I think they have covered their own a*s. When you call them and make arrangements for the overpriced systems and the outrageous terms, your phone call is recorded which effectively enters you into a legally binding verbal agreement. I believe if you are dealing with a monotary amount lower that a few grand, this is indeed binding and can be used in the court of law. Please keep this in mind. Thanks

I signed up with this company "financing alternatives" a month ago and i've had the same problems described in most of the rip off reports written on this company. What you need to do is call your bank. The 1-800 number. Tell the representative that you have had unauthorized debits in your account. Tell them that you have tried everything and this company still debits money from your account. Not only should they reverse the debits and credit your account for ALL debits taken, but they should refund any over draft fees and return fees (if any). I called wells fargo on Saturday and my money was immediately credited. As well as wells fargo is DEMANDING the money back from Financing Alternatives. So not only do they have to give the money back, it's like a slap in the face for a company thats used to dealing with unsuspecting consumers. So stand up for yourself and let your bank know.
