I attempted to have a quiet sit down dinner at an extremely overpriced small portion restaurant. I had heard good and bad reviews on their food and wait staff but decided to give them a try anyway. In the bar area, there was a group apparently having "happy hour" very loudly.

I complained several times to my waitress as I waited 35 minutes after placing my order for food. I was told they were a social group that eats and drinks there everyday and they should be leaving soon. She told me they were called "parrotheads" and that the owner and his wife were part of the group. 35 minutes when my food did arrive..it was extremely small portions and the loud obnoxious group was still there.

I complained again to my waitress about the noise and that I wanted to speak to a manager. I was told the manager would be over shortly because he was working behind the bar making drinks for the "parrotheads". 20 minutes later when I had finished eating, there was still no manager to be found, but the loud group was still there. As opposed to waiting, I asked for my check, paid too much money for not very good food and a horrible environment and left.

CONSUMER BEWARE!!

When speaking to many friends and neighbors about this establishment, I was told by several people that those "parrotheads" are a carry on from what the restaurant previously was which was a bar. Apparently it was remodeled and renamed and never switched owners. They must have kept the same rude staff and drunk obnoxious patrons and the restaurant will fail just as their bar did.

So if ever in Crofton Maryland and are looking for a great environment and good food....skip Fins!!! Go to McDonald's instead...it's right up the street, cheaper and you'll get more food!!!! Even with it's kids play area...it's probably quieter and a more mature clientle than Fins and those "parrotheads".

First, I'd like to say I think what this website offers is great and I support you 100%. Now, I couldn't believe it when I saw a bad report for Fins. I have been there several times and have yet to be disappointed in the service or food. Granted I understand the person saying that the portions are alittle small for the prices but Fins is not a buffet. If they want quantity instead of quality then go to golden corral. Fins is not a big place, but they do have a wall separating the bar from the restaurant. I've been on the bar side and i've been on the dining side and have never felt the need to complain about the noise coming from the bar. In my opinion and everybody I've talked to, loves Fins and hopes it sticks around. The food has always been consistently excellent. The atmosphere is great, they always have good music playing. The menu has many different types of seafood dishes along with a very good sushi menu. They offer quite a few specialty drinks, such as there star-tini, which is a star fruit martini. I'm sorry to go on and on but I just can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I understand that everyone has their own opinions and this restaurant isn't for everyone. But if you like good food, a nice modern hawaiian themed atmosphere, and a variety of drinks, then give them a try.
