If I were you I would let them keep it. We too had a credit balance, since we over paid on the account trying to close it. So I wrote them a letter saying I wanted my money and they sent the check to zero out our balance and account. The next statement they added a fifty cent finance charge to the account so now we have a new balance. You can't call in to resolve the matter so you must spend hours photo copying and writing letters to the three different P.O. boxes given (One is now closed by the way). A month went by and now they added a 35 dollar late fee. So take it from me. Just let the crooks keep it and consider yourself lucky that they can't add anything to your account. Also please fill out a complaint with the attorney general and FTC, maybe they will stop them from stealing from honest individuals.

I just wanted to let you know that I too was a victim of this company. I paid off $1,832 on my credit card and it never has posted. I'm in the process of having an investigation done by the credit card who did the transfer. I also have a phone number at FCNB that will help. FCNB was acquired by another company on July 1, 2003. If you call the following number they will reimburse you the $39.00. Although they also said my account would be taken care of in a few days. I paid it off on June 28 and to date nothing has appeared. The number is: 1-866-475-1434 and you will be able to talk to a customer service representative. I am also a military wife and I know how stressful it must have been. My husband was deployed to Korea for a year and it would have been difficult for him without a credit card. Hopefully, this information will help you at least get your money back.
