FIRST FAMILY SECURITIES INC. This Company is a Ripoff AVOID Maywood, Illinois
I received a check from this company in the amount of $ 4,980.00. They say this was to pay off the taxes that would be due to the government, which would be $2995.00.
And, that this all came about because I had won a Shoppers Sweepstakes which was held on July 5, 2009. The total amount of my winnings was $ 250,000.00. I found this hard to believe because I had not entered a Sweepstakes of any kind.
I called the telephone number provided, gave them the Claim No (WA/SDH-0101), and I was told to deposited the check and call them back. This seemed a little odd to me why would I have to call them back, they could have given me all the information I need during our conversation
So I started checking, first the bank that the check was written against, than the Company. The bank is in long Beach, and I located the company, under SCAMS.
If I had deposited that check, I would have incurred fee's against my account, who knows what else.
If you get a letter from First Family Securities Inc. do yourself a favor, put it in the trash.
