Our car has valve tapping noises. This has been going on since December. I am disabled (I get paid SSDI Social Security) and am getting really tired of it. This afternoon after talking with Southeast regional rep I blew up on one teenager and the wife. The rest of the day I just stayed in the bedroom. I had to go out to the car with the cordless phone with the wife on the other phone and prove to the regional rep the engine made regular systematic steady with acelleration valve tapping noises.

It has esclated that I have contacted Toyota and called up the 800 complaint number. Now the Southeast regional rep is involved and still they they can not be bothered to work/look on the car till Monday the 18th May 2002. Last Monday the 11th after induction cleaner (ie. like carburator and carbon cleaners 3 bottles total) had been preformed the previous week the mechanical noise persisted 125 miles later. Even the Regional rep can't a fire lit to get the car in the lot to get it fixed.

The Regional Representative I finally have her name and the reason she contacted was because she had to at the end of 3 days and she had not contacted the dealership because she was on vacation and nobody takes over her cases when she is gone. Prior to vacation she says that she had her desk completely cleared of all work before she left for a couple of days off (now that don't sound like it really rings true.)

The regional reps' number is 954-420-4741 her name is Diane Judson between the time of 1:30 to 4pm she never checked her voice mail. As I told the supervisor at the 800 Toyota complaint number after she just talked on another line that if the Regional rep didn't call me by 2pm I was going to place an ad in the newspaper with my complaints. The newspaper won't let me put in an add cause in their example if the cost you pay is $600 to place and add but Toyota pays $150,000 a year in advertising the newspaper won't bite the hand that feeds it.

I have held the phone for Diane Judson so she could hear the noise. Prior I made a video tape and played it with the General Sales Manager Wayne Cook. Two days later as the car finally set insided the fenced service area The Service Manager and 2 mechanics heard the sound and all that was done was was the induction cleaner (ie carburator cleaner and additives and gas additive to remove carbon). The Service Manager said he would have someone on it in 15 minutes that morning and call in 1 1/2 hours and over 3 hours later no call. (This is another time that a disabled person loves to get up early) I called Wayne Cook and the operator said he would be back in 15 minutes give or take, I left a message on his voice mail. Wayne Cook sales manager with a special award on his business card delivered a car and then was invited to go flying so he went and when I called back later he had not picked up his voicemail. Wayne just patched me through to service and OH its ready come get it. And no reason when I asked about the call while waiting at home for the 1 1/2 hours to pass.

To shorten the stories On another ocasion I told them to fix it you can have it for 5 day or however that day they said get it we solved the rubbing problem ... its a tapping noise ... is that what you fixed? yes. We filed a corner on the outside of the engine the plastic cover was the problem we put washers under the plastic engine cover and take it home and its fixed ... it wasn't.

Other stories are when it gets worse and easir to diagnose then we can fix it.

We can't tear it apart without authorization one time a person higher up gave approval the tear down the engine and it turned out to be the transmission.

Is this enough? I've hauled it in multiple times that are not mentioned. Called them other times. Had had the wife go down tell them etc.

These people would never keep it overnight let alone a few days I had to park it there overnight come in and start it up for them. I'm disabled I dislike many a morning I am disabled enough that the government pays me SSDI (social security disability.) Can I sue for mental hardship and anguish this car we bought to last forever. I take anti-depressants all year round more in the winter. I take at times for pain 2 narcotic pain pill types (opiate derivatives) and for less pain another perscription called Ultram.

Regards,

Bruce

Well, being a state trooper, and, you being disabled and, apparently, on narcotics most of the time, what the hell are you doing driving!!!??? Let alone griping about your car? Also, SSDI doesn't pay enough to buy a Toyota, last time I checked. This has to be a joke. I couldn't understand most of what was said anyway.

You should not be allowed to write letters if they don't make any sense. This customer could have got alot more help if he could communicate with others in a normal way.
