Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I am not suprised by these other complaints; However, they made it seem like I was the only unstatisfied customer when I've called.

My husband and I were approached by a "Rain Soft" repressentative at our local big chain hardware warehouse. They said we could win a $20 gift card to that store if we took a water survery... liking gift cards, I fell for it. The next day I got a call from a guy who said he'd like to come out and do a free water test for that $20 gift card. Being a new mom and homeowner of a well water home, I figured "Why not! I should know what my baby is bathing in". So the salesman and another guy, who he was training, came over that night. They conducted many water tests (all of the ones that other complainers described) that showed nasty scummy things in our water... which scared my husband and I.

This salesman proceeded to tell us how this "miracle" water will allow us to stop using harsh household chemicals and laundry detergents. He claimed this water would save us tons of money, infact, he used the "awesome water" to clean our sink and our grout with the rough side of a sponge and water... boy was it nice and shiney(stupid me!). With the package he was selling us, we would get a reverse osmosis water drinking system installed under our sink and an air purifying system attached to our air handler. Since having a baby born with lung issues, we wanted the best air he could breath and we fell deeper into the scam.

When we told the guy we weren't interested he pushed every thing in our face to get us to sign the contract. He tried selling us free soaps for a year (if this water was so great and I didn't need soap... why are you selling me soap?). Told him I still wasn't intested. Then he said he would give us a grocery shopping deal where we can get all these awesome coupons to save tons of money, once again.... This time I agreed.

The salesperson had us sign a contract and said another man would be returning the next day with the financing paperwork. The following day, someone else should up so we could finalize the deal. When my husband and I saw the financing figures we FREAKED! The salesman said the system would cost us around $5000, but when it came to the final paperwork it was over $12,000. Obviuosly, we refused to sign. So then one of the owners gave us a call and told us he'd make it so we'd only have to pay the $5000 if we paid it off in 6 months.

Within that time, we had 8-10 service calls b/c the system did not work as promised. We tried to get the system removed and our money back with each service call; but they refused. Saying they will fix it to make it right. Well, over a year later and many service calls, it is still not right. We now have every Rain Soft equipment under the sun. One service tech said we have a "showroom of equipment".

Not only does it leave stains, smell like burnt hair, and leave iron everywhere; it costs lots of money for salt and each year we have to pay $250 for a UV lightbulb that only this company sells... so they claim.

DO NOT GO WITH FLORIDA ENERGY AND AIR.
