On June 6, 2016, I received a quote from a broker to move two vehicles from my primary residence in Virginia to my secondary residence in Florida.  On June 7, 2016, the contract was finalized with the broker.  The broker contracted with Florida Equiparts to execute the transport of both vehicles.  Several issues occurred with the vehicles being picked up.  They were originally due to be picked up on June 9 or 10, 2016, with delivery on or before June 12, 2016.  The vehicles were finally picked up on June 14, 2016 with an estimated delivery of June 18, 2016.  The vehicles were scheduled to be picked up and dropped off so we could utilize them while we were in Florida from June 11, 2016 through the morning of June 14, 2016.  As of June 18, 2016, we had still not heard that they had been delivered.  Due to the late arrival of the vehicles, we had already left Florida and we had to rent a car for the entire time we were in Florida.

On June 24, 2016, a friend checked and the vehicles had arrived, still not sure when, and the driver had left a note just saying “Sorry” for the damage.  I immediately contacted Orange Auto Transport, who contacted Florida Equiparts.  Apparently, there was a fire on the transport carrier which totaled one of my vehicles and did minor damage to the other.  A claim was filed by Orange Auto Transport, on my behalf, on June 29, 2016.

On October 5, 2016, it was determined the one vehicle was totaled.  York Risk Services settled the total loss of my vehicle for the amount of $12,475.00.  $9,975.00 which was issued by Lloyds of London and $2,500.00, the deductible, which was issued by Florida Equiparts.  The check from Lloyds of London was received on October 13, 2016 and cleared my account on October 24, 2016.  I received the final check on October 29, 2016 for the one vehicle.  The second vehicle was not repaired until October 28, 2016.  This process has taken forever!

I contracted to have two vehicles brought to Florida so my husband and I would each have vehicles to drive while we were in Florida and not have to rent vehicles.  For four and a half months, I did not have a vehicle to drive while I was in Florida. Therefore, I was forced to rent a vehicle in June and August to make up for the fact that, due to the fire on the truck, I no longer had a vehicle to drive.  Also, we could only afford to rent one vehicle, leaving us short a vehicle.  In September 2016, since the issue had still not been resolved and I had no idea when it would be, I decided to bring another vehicle to Florida myself.  I have enclosed the two rental vehicle receipts and the receipt for having to tow another vehicle, a total of $705.00.

York Risk Service Group has advised under the property damage policy, Florida Equiparts does not cover rental vehicles.  Your driver caused the damage to two of my vehicles and it took four and a half months for me to get the one repaired and paid for the other.  Florida Equiparts should be responsible for reimbursing me for the rentals, tow bar and loss of use of my vehicles.  Since the claim is being covered under property damage, loss of use should be covered for the four and a half months I was not able to utilize my vehicles.  If you do not cover this under property damage, please send me the documents to the contrary.  If you need to cover the rentals under your cargo coverage insurance, please do so and let me know what further information you need.  My order number is: 302820-IF.  This is the other identifying information I have regarding the vehicles:  Damaged vehicle - V113610006C150131R - Florida Equiparts Inc, 7305/2016.  Joseph Dobbins has been looped in on the emails regarding this issue and you have also been included.
