I ordered foam it green spray insulation after having made a large order of 16 kits. One of those kits was defective, but I was told since it was over the one year warranty period, I was screwed. I lost about 600 to 700 dollars due to their defect with the product. The tank leaked its accelerant. They ask you to check for this when you call so they know the Chinese made tanks and product are prone to defects. My problem now is that I needed more foam so like an idiot I ordered from foam it green even though they scammed me once. The spray foam from the beginning was the wrong consistency, but I used it resulting in foam the was a little mushy.

Then I used the foam one day ( following all the rules for closing, spraying weekly, etc.... The tank was now open for approximately two or three months) and after spraying it turned into dripping blue sticky liquid and made a mess. Called the 800 number and spoke with Chris he indicated what to do to fix. I was told they would make it right. His solution did not work. He had me send info from tanks and weights again telling me they would make it right. After sending him the info he reverted to email to inform me I had to purchase a new gun for $85- a big discount from the listed price of $115.

This is ridiculous. I paid a fortune for this kit and it does not work so foam it green wants me to buy a new gun without even knowing if that's the problem. Why would I pay for their gun if I followed their directions? I emailed back what if the gun does not solve the problem? Here is where the scope of their great warranty wording "and you get the no worry warranty that helps ensure you get a working kit": They told me I would have to pay to mail the kit from Staten Island, NY to Riverwood, Il and BACK to myself to determine the cause of the problem. This shipping would probably cost me 300 to 500 dollars. In other words their is no warranty.

Refresher on how ripoff report works, what libelous means, and your warranty

Hello mr. Munns, I wish to take a few minutes at this time to explain that ripoff report- as I read on this site- is not like the Bbb. The Bbb takes the complaint from the consumer, lets you reply, maybe some back and forth, and then they give you, their client the last published comments, and cut off the voice of the complainer. This is a good system for a business and obviously you saw value in paying to "resolve" or close complaints. Rip off report never ends. It does not favor the person complained about, no unfortunately it allows anyone to say anything. I fully understand that some people have fake complaints, either for personal reasons or malicious reasons.

But you yourself mentioned that I had previously used your product. In fact, I used a lot of it. I made no complaints other than for my loss of almost 700 dollars because your tank vented its propellant. Yes your dot approved tank opened and expelled its propellant. I didn't like that. You told me I was out of warranty, and it ended. I ordered more product recently and have a problem now. In describing the problem I am relying on my experience with the product, and the information I obtain from your literature. Here is where I have to explain something. yYou wrote a rebuttal and used the word libelous.

I am telling no lies, I assure you of two things one is that if you ( READ you not me) keep writing material on this site you will injure your business by stating things that are untrue, and second it will eventually damage your businesses reputation further. I fact, much more than the truth which I have highlighted in my complaint. One claim I made may not be true. Your product may not be made in China. I can not figure it out yet because the writing I thought was Chinese on the tanks is Japanese. I will figure it out. I have printed out copies of your warranty and will post it if I figure out how to do it. The claims you made in your rebuttal about your warranty are false.

I have even contacted you for the location for tank inspection and you refused to even provide that information. The funny thing is that the necessary purchase of a spray gun you mentioned in your rebuttal was not the real issue. It was Chris' further responses that let me know that if there is a problem the warranty gets thrown out the window. When I have time I'll do a line by line rebuttal to your rebuttal. I just wanted to take the time out to explain how your claims of libel are clearly out of line with the facts, and apparently your warranty needs some serious updating with your actual business practices. It's your companies claim over 35,000 sales and only 900 reviews. Right?

Spray Foam Kit Warranty

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

The explicit warranty of a spray foam insulation kit, regardless of brand, is that once it has been open for 30 days, it is no longer in warranty.  The spray applicator in Mr. Boyle's kit was not a manufacturer defect.  It worked when the kit was new.  It dried up from not being used for months.  This happens to all epoxies, glues, and polyurethane foam kits.

The only thing required for Mr. Boyle to use the rest of his kit is to purchase a replacement sprayer, which we offered at a discounted rate to him.  If he loses $700 worth of material, it is ONLY because he refuses to purchase a replacement sprayer for a product he didn't use up within 30 days of opening.

Making libelous comments about how we stand behind our product takes away from the 35,000+ happy Foam it Green customers who followed instructions, and got great results. This includes Mr. Boyle himself in 2013 when he first purchased Foam it Green and liked it so much he bought again.  We look forward to helping him get his replacement sprayer when he's ready to finish his project.
