I was incredulous when I saw that I had a $900 deposit show up on my American Express bill for Foremost Furniture. I had expressed an interest in a sofa and signed up to purchase same while at the facility. The salesman was Ken Barish who turned out to be very uncouth and deceptive with his selling techniques. I called Foremost the next day to cancel my order and actually spoke to Ken Barish who acknowledged the cancellation to me, personally. Thus my surprise when seeing the charge on my credit card.

After many phone calls, I was issued an exchange credit by Foremost. I arrived at the facility a few weeks ago to use the credit, only to find that Foremost was going out of business. They did not contact any people, such as myself to use the credit. I felt fortunate and lucky to have gone to the facility that day while they were still in business. I purchased two items from an individual[who acted as a salesperson], Patricia, who worked for the liquidator at the Foremost facility. I was asked to pay an additional $80 to cover the tax on the exchange, which I did pay at the time. I was told that the items would be put on the side for me and that I could pick it up that week.

I hired a driver to pick up the merchandise [a lamp and a mirror] after verifying w/ the store the day before that the items were set aside for me and were sitting at the 30th Street fscility,ready to be picked up. The driver called Foremost the next day[the date agreed to]before parking his car at the garage and found the Foremost phones had been disconnected. I did not believe him , and upon receiving his call I tried to call Foremost -THE PHONES HAD BEEN DIOSCONNECTED! I verified the pick up the day before!!! Outrageous behavior!

I consider this an extreme rip off and a total fraud on the consumer and public. I would love to recover the merchandise or receive a return of my $980 - but there is nobody to talk to.
