payed about $300 a year for a policy to cover damage, theft and fire coverage to a mobile home for 20 years. we filed a claim to cover repairs to the roof . they sent this idiot out that really did not know what they were talkin about. a few hours later the claim was denied. so i cancelled the policy. as far as we are concerned insurance through this compay is nothing more than a big rip off. i don't think we can even recoup our money back. this was a year ago.

I am a consumer and not affliated with the insurance company or insurance industry at all.
I have to say: I never thought I would ever defend any insurance company, but your complaint is not based on what you actually purchased. From your complaint, you have had this mobile home for 20 years during which time you paid $300/year for insurance. Now you are looking for roof repairs to be covered by your insurance company.
Check your insurance policy, normal wear and tear are excluded. Repair and replacement would be at the consumers expense and responsibility. Just like the rest of us, repair as needed and replace when needed. If the damage was due to some outside event such as a weather event, then that is different. But no insurance company is going to repair or replace your 20 year old roof at their expense for normal wear and tear. That is not what you paid for when you purchased your policy.
