Portland,#2Consumer Comment

Having owned my own shop in Portland for five years (up to 32 employee's)I must tell everyone that repairing a vehicle is not an exact science. We are dealing with human mechanics and as such they make mistakes or take a little longer in completing the repair than one of the other mechanics might have taken. That does not mean that the consumer is getting ripped off because of those situations. The market(consumers)decides what is a fair price and what a fair time frame to complete a repair should be. If the shop has old broken down equipment and it takes longer to do the job, then the price per hour usually will be lower than the high tech shop down the road. Now this ex-employee sure sounds like he has a mouth full to say but he doesn't say anything except that a lousey manager and owner run the place and rip people off. If I had a buck for every time one of my ex-employee's went running to a customer after they were fired by me telling them how crummy they were treated and how I ripped them (the customer)off, I would be a rich man by now. From the ravings of this ex-employee (if he really is an ex and not a competing shop)you can tell he didn't like working for this company from day one because of what he says is low pay and then there is the treating everyone like "crap" and no one will hire him because he worked for Fosters. The likely reason this mechanic can't get a job is because he talks so bad about Fosters at job interviews and we all know (except him) that you should buck up and keep your mouth shut. Try putting a sock in it the next interview you go on " Anonymous " - you might just get a job. Don't know if you will hold onto it but who knows.
