Fowler Chevrolet repaired our 2008 Impala after an accident. First round repairs were $9,800 on a $12,000 vehicle and then CARFAX showed frame damage above and beyond the accident notation after the repairs!

The proceeded with repairs without our approval even though I emailed to not start until we talked about it.

Our insurance covered like tires and they wanted me to go get the replacement Goodyear tire and bring to the dealership!

It was in the shop over 7 weeks and insurance only covered for 30 days of a rental vehicle, but since we were renting from the Fowler Chevrolet fleet, they had no incentive to get it done in 30 days.

I requested quality assurance in writing regarding the repair/weld area after the CarFax concerns. I also requested more information regarding if the welder was certified etc..., but have not received anything substantial in writing.  The body shop manager was terminated soon after our repairs.

The Body Shop Manager, Chris, stated that General Motors/Chevrolet sent in a representative to review the repairs and backed the dealership 100%.   I requested something in writing from General Motors/Chevrolet after sending the picture of the repairs and they won't put anything in writing.

Fowler Chevrolet refuses to resolve the outstanding issues.  See the picture being attached to this complaint!

We ended up taking it to SouthPointe Chevrolet to minimize the noises coming out of the repair area and have never been reimbursed.

Dealer Name Change to Jim Glover Chevrolet

Correct, it does appear the Jim Glover has purchased this dealership and that is 2 name changes in less than a year.

New website: jimgloverchevyontheriver.com/ same address

Chevrolet Customer Assistance said to work with whoever is at that location now given the body shop employees are pretty much the same people.  Jim Glover refuses to resolve issues of the bad repairs etc....

I don't understand how changing the name on the building allows these businesses to think they can escape accountability for bad service they have provided.

Name Change

What am I missing? The reason the name changed is due to the fact that Fowler Chevrolet was purchased by the David Stanley Auto Group, hence the name change to David Stanley's Riverside Chevrolet. Sounds like your complaint should be taken up with the Fowler people as the dealership is owned by new owners with new management. I don't see how Riverside should be held responsible for someone else's alleged problem. Have you consulted an attorney? What does he say? I don't think we're getting the whole story....

Carfax disputes what dealer told me by email

The dealer even emailed me to say the frame was OK, yet Carfax showed this was incorrect.  Dealer ran to hide behind attorneys very quickly.
