I went to Freecreditreport.com as I heard it on the radio and TV that it was free to check my credit report.

I entered my information as it asked.

The one thing that was peculiar was that part of the application asking me for a credit card number.

I read on, it said my card would not be charged it was just used for identity purposes only.

Ok then onto my free credit report and score.

Now here it is 7 months later I come to find out my credit card has been charged monthly $11.95 for credit monitoring? Twice from 2 different credit reporting agencies I guess because I got 3 credit scores and 2 out of the 3 latched onto my credit card number.

I know I should have been more diligent in checking my credit card statements and I would have caught it much earlier but I'm busy, I know what I charge. I pay my bills and I never see the statements anyway the wife does and she never questions my charges.

Well I decided to glance over the statements this month for a change to see how things are doing I saw that double $11.95 charges from these credit card .com companies and hit the roof. That's $26 per month they are hitting my card for.

And I don't even know what the service is for.

I called the number next to the charge and got the run around about when I checked my credit report I must have clicked a box for credit report monitoring at $11.95 per month. OK if that's that case why would I do it twice and if I did such a thing where the heck do I go to use the service and why wasn't I sent any emails to the effect.

I check my email daily diligently and nothing from a credit monitoring service and I have no log in info.

I called them and got a song and dance but they did see that I never used the service but their policy is no refunds, however if you call this other 888 number you can get it investigated and maybe get some money back. $173 total. 7 months X2 @ 11.95 each.

The operator gave me back 2 months 2 MONTHS after bilking me for 14 months

SCAMMERS and THIEFS is all these people are.

So buyer beware when using the FREE CREDIT REPORT .COM if they ask you for a credit card they aren't just asking you for a identity verification.

The safe place to get a credit report from all the agencies without a credit card and it is set up by the laws of our government is www.annualcreditreport.com

You're not being honest about your report.

""I read on, it said my card would not be charged it was just used for identity purposes only. "" This is NOT what they're website states. Hardly! You were notified TWICE that it was a trial period and that if you didn't cancel your membership your account would be charged. They have had the following notices on their website for a year that I know of: ''From their HOME PAGE: '''IMPORTANT INFORMATION When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. ConsumerInfo.com, Inc. and Freecreditreport.com are not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. Under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies. To request your free annual report under that law, you must go to www.annualcreditreport.com.''' From the 'Step 2' page where you enter your credit card information: '''Your credit card will not be charged during the free trial period. However, valid credit card information is required to establish your account.''' Further down the page (about 2 inches on a 20 inch monitor) '''Payment Information When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple Advantage SM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within 9 days of enrollment, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. If you are not satisfied, you can cancel at any time to discontinue the membership and stop the monthly billing; however, you will not be eligible for a pro-rated refund of your current month's paid membership fee.''' You were not ripped off. I do find it amusing that the clowns at freecreditreport.com don't seem to know if it is a 7 (seven) day or 9 (nine) day free trial. Perhaps someone should point this out to them.

The following information is on the first page of the company website. I find it amazing how many people claim they were ripped off. Think about it, why would three credit bureaus give you their credit reports or give you free credit monitoring. http://www.freecreditreport.com/ IMPORTANT INFORMATION When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring.
