I have been to this website and used their services. They clearly state that you will be charged after the free trial period unless you cancel, which I did and subsequently never charged. A little note for future mis-reads, when filling out your personal info and also required to put a credit card number in, you are probably going to pay. Read before just pointing and clicking. This site also will direct you to where you can get a free report as mandated by law.

Tina, You have unfortunately fallen into the trap that many people seem to get caught in. Most of us have heard that you can get one free credit report per year due to the new law passed by the Feds. But most people do not know the proper website to go to in order to get your true free credit report. You see this free credit report ad and think it's the right one to go to. However, Freecreditreport.com requires you to sign up for their "credit monitoring service" in order to get your free report. There is a monthly fee for this, as you've discovered. They rely on people not realizing what they are signing up for in order to make money. In the future, this is the site you need to go to for your free annual report: annualcreditreport.com You start on that website by submitting some information, then you are directed individually to each of the Big 3 Credit Bureau sites to get your actual report. But a word of caution, make sure you only opt to get your free report. The Credit Bureau sites will try to get you to sign up for credit monitoring, a "tri-merge" report, or try to sell you your "credit score". Ignore all of these offers and just get your free report. Then check it over for errors, and dispute any mistakes with each Bureau. Good luck!
