I went to the website FreeCreditReport.com and requested a free credit report - one for myself and one for my husband. Everything I selected said "free"
However, if a person reads EVERY WORD of the "Terms and Conditions" what you will discover (buried in the LAST paragraph) is that if you fail to cancel within 30 days, you will automatically be billed an annual fee of $79.95.
There is NO PLACE on the website that explains how one can cancel the service. I contacted them by e-mail, and received confirmation that they have received the e-mail, but am awaiting the information I requested regarding HOW to cancel the "service" I unintentionally ordered from them (by NOT cancelling).
Perhaps there is some value in receiving the "free" credit report, but if you use this website for the service, be sure that you cancel within the 30 days if you truly expect it to be free.
