Freelancers Union will not pay a claim I submitted where i fell and broke a bone in my face.  They are trying to say I was in a car accident, but I was not.  I had to go to the emergency room and get x-rays and cat scans on my head, I fell face first on some pavement and the x-rays showed I fractured my ocular bone, as well as broke my finger.  The fall occured because I was leaning on a car I lost my balance and stumbled. Freelancers is saying this is an auto accident and refusing to pay my emergency room claim. 3 calls to their customer service tried to explain this was not an auto accident, but they insist it is. They are also reading the police report i provided them wrong, the reps think I was leaning on a "cab", like a taxi, each of the 3 calls I have had to explain it was not a cab but car; and that it had nothing to do with my fall.  Each of the 3 reps i spoke to in 3 seperate calls has told me they will escalate this for further review and assured me someone will call me back.  It's almost 5 months since the accident now and I have yet to receive a call back.

I paid freelancer's premiums for 3 years without ever submitting a claim. I am upset that the one legitamate claim i submit, they are trying to weasel out of paying. I paid well over 20 grand in premiums and the one major claim I submit gets rejected; feels like a hustle.

We recently dropped freelancers and went with obamacare, and it's very suspicious that this claim gets denied right as we switched.

A manager called me today and apologized that no one ever got back to me, and she informed me they were covering the claim. They needed to know that no auto claim was being filed and then they would be able to go ahead with my personal claim.  I did tell them that on 3 seperate calls, but the third time must have been the charm. :)
