WARNING To All Professional Job-seekers & Businesses In Toronto
If you're seeking professional employment through online postings within the Toronto area, chances are you may have come across various ads from Fresh Communications Group seeking a variety of positions. This is a warning that the company and president are currently under investigation by the Federal and Provincial Governments.
Over the past seven years, Fresh Communications Group is a video production company that is in the habit of hiring professional employees under a promise of suspiciously high returns (commissions) and salary. The typical MO is that they will hire with the promise of compensation in a "month or two" and then switch you up to a very attractive salary for many differing reasons. Don't be fooled. J.B. is extremely convincing and has made a living out of this.
In the example of his Marketing and Sales teams, he will have these people source and set up contracts for his company, then find any means of delaying or extending the process for as long as it takes to force his employees to quit. This is typically done to the point where the "commissioned" professional drops off due to financial attrition. From here it's a matter of J.B. making arrangements to meet with those businesses and taking the full profits for himself. This allows him to avoid paying the 10% commissions (usually for contracts between 30-100k), then claiming victims were "contractors".
If you are a company approached by this business, be warned. The scam you are being shown is presented as the "future of advertising". It is always consistent. The majority of what you are seeing has been built off the backs of talent who had been manipulated and deceived by J.B. Fresh Communications Group routinely "shifts" it's service profile (eg: from Investor Relations support to Commercial Advertising and back again) to troll for contracts and unsuspecting customers. Without real case studies, it's likely you'll not have what is represented either.

My name is Jamie Bailey, President of Fresh Communications Group. This is in response to the disgruntled commission sales person who was terminated in December 2009 (the suspected author of this complaint). Over the past seven years of business, Fresh Communications Group has hired only two people for any commission position. Period.
Both were hired in Augusts of 2009. One became a high performer and is still happily employed here at Fresh fulltime (and he would be happy to discuss his experience here and about the suspected author of this complaint). The other demonstrated a sizable ineptitude and was let go in December of 2009 (and is the suspected author of this complaint). This sales person was let go for not only producing ZERO revenue for Fresh over a four month period (leading to Zero commissions owed) but he also hurt Freshs reputation with a number of potential clients with his sales techniques.
A very angry voice message from one potential client has been kept on file that was in direct response to his sales techniques. In my seven years in business, Ive never had any phone call from anyone (in business or life in general) of this magnitude. I would be more than happy to share this recorded message with anyone who requests it. I may also post it online along with a more detailed account of this persons time here at Fresh for anyone considering hiring him in the future.
There are currently ZERO contracts that have been closed from any of the activities from this person and ZERO outstanding commissions to be paid to anyone. To our knowledge Fresh Communications Group has never been under any investigation by any Provincial or Federal authorities.
Its great that we live in a time where anyone can say anything online. Here is a perfect example of that freedom. It would be wonderful if this person who wrote this complaint would be so brave as to indentify himself, but he seems to be a small man with out the stature to rise to the occasion. At the end of the day we would love to share our full story of their activities while at Fresh Communications group. Im sure future employers would love to be aware of what this person in capable of.
