FROZEN FOOD EXPRESS ripoff the business that doesn't give a dam LANCASTER Texas
I was a driver for Frozen Food Express since 31 March 1993, On 11 December 2000 I was injuried while unhooking a trailer in Fountain Co. I was sent home to New Mexico by the company after I was released from the Emergency Room in Lamar Co. They wanted me to leave the truck in Lamar Co and take a bus home, I had my son drive from Santa Rosa NM to Lamar Co to pick me up and to remove my things from the truck.
I started seeing my Doctor after I got home. I was later refered to a Doctor in Albuquerque NM after about six months I had to hava surgery on my back, this was on 14 June 2001. I was being paid by the company under the Employee Injury Benefit Plan until about 18 January 2002, at which time the company stated that my benefits had expired and that they would no longer pay for any medical expense.
I was released by my Doctor to return to work on 31 January 2002,
at whick time I called my Truck Supervisor (Ron Briden) and told him that I was ready to return to work. I then had to speak to Bob Fisher about getting a truck and was told that they did not have any trucks available at this time, over the next four months I kept calling and asking Bob Fisher about getting a truck and was always told that there were none available. After speaking to several drivers with FFE I called Bob Fisher and Steve Branch about them haveing trucks and was told that they did have trucks, but not one for me.
On 20 July 2002, I was notified that I had been terminated by the company for not returning to work. This is BS I had been staying in contact with them and was wanting to return to FFE, but since I have had back surgury they did not want me to return to work with FFE.
They are not paying any more of my medical bills nor are they going to let me return to work after working for them 8 year.
