I responded to an advertisment in my local paper for a Philips "refurbished" soundbar with subwoofer.  This was just one of a page of typical Frys advertisments.  After six weeks it was finally delivered.  It came with no remote or instructions.  I called the number on the shipping label and they told me that anything sold as refurbished was "as is".  Well the soundbar does not work without a remote.  I found instructions online otherwise I would not know I needed a sound bar.  The soundbar with sub-bass speaker was $49.00.  The remote that they did not put in the box will cost me $36.70.  I have ordered that online from a separate source.  Philips charge more.  There wes nothing in the 2 inch x 2 inch ad in the paper that said anything about being sold as is.  As is may be OK if you know what is missing or not functioning.  Screw Frys.com
