BEWARE OF STEVEN KANG and FURREVER GRATEFUL RESCUE (FGR) 창밖의 고양이!! DO NOT DONATE TO THIS ANIMAL ABUSER!!

Steven Kang is a senior man in his 70's who runs a fake rescue organization called FURREVER GRATEFUL RESCUE (FGR) 창밖의 고양이 based in Artesia, CA. He offers pet-sitting services, rescue services, house-sitting services too. He is a true con artist who pretends not to speak or understand a word of English. He solicits donations online, preys on women who love cats, and has a history of animal abuse.

This man has been investigated by SPCA-LA. In 2016, Steven Kang was prolonging the suffering of a cat named SANDY, having a vet operate on this poor, dying cat without a proper diagnosis while making money off the cat's gruesome pictures. He sheltered this cat in a cage in his warehouse for many, many, many weeks while raising donations. Steven Kang's vet, Dr. Ryan Whitney, even lost his veterinary license over this abuse: spcala.convio.net/site/DocServer/Decision_and_Order_Ryan_Whitney.pdf?docID=3123

Here's what was on the news:

"According to an investigation by the California Veterinary Medical Board, the cat had a tumor that ate away at one side of its face, including its eye.

Medical records showed that Sandy’s eye tissue was removed, but not biopsied, and the tumor grew. After the tumor spread across Sandy’s entire face and caused him to lose weight until he was only six pounds, the rescue organization took him to a new veterinarian.

“Based on his poor condition and abominable quality of life, his refusal to eat and weight loss, the vet recommended euthanasia as there was no effective treatment for his condition,” the SPCALA said.

Instead, Furrever Grateful Rescue (FGR) and Steven Kang took Sandy home to a warehouse where he was checked on daily, according the SPCALA. Investigators allegedly discovered the rescue organization was fundraising off of Sandy’s condition by posting pictures of him on social media.

“It is unclear why Whitney or Furrever Grateful Rescue or Steven Kang allowed the miserable suffering of this animal,” said SPCALA President Madeline Bernstein.  “Whatever their intentions, whether motivated by naiveté or greed, this kind of cruelty is beyond words. No living being should ever suffer like that.”"

In honor of Sandy's memory, please spread this story far and wide so this kind of exploitation and abuse will never happen again to another innocent animal. Cesar Perea at SPCA-LA: spcala.com/programs-services/report-animal-cruelty/
