Your agent was not only a TEXAS licensed Real Estate agent but probably also a REALTOR and has violated rules that regulate his behaviour. You have at least from your remarks a justifiable complaint which you shuld pursue! Contact the Texas Association of REALTOR's (TAR)in Austin and tell them you wish to file a complaint and that you need their assistance in making the complaint. They'll be more than helpfull in walking you through the process. The actual penalty might appear to be small but it'll eat up his time and put his ethical shallowness up for viewing in front of his pears plus the actual penalty that will be assessed. To contact TAR call (800) 873-9155. Your agent has also violated the Texas Real Estate License Act. You need to report him to the Texas Real Estate Commission, they can be reached at (800) 250-8732. They also will get you started in filing a complaint, if you ever spoke to his broker, who is responsible for his conduct, and nothing was done, or if you left messages and no one called you back, then you can report his broker for not properly supervising his agent! The penalties from the real estate commission are very serious and you will definetly have his attention! Good Luck!
