The following is from a warning report posted by eBay concerning eGameUniverse: "That $1.50 "insurance" which Egameuniverse forces you to pay for. Well it's a bond from BuySafe. Per email from Egameuniverse: "Our insurance is provided through BuySafe, and covers not only the loss of the package in shipping..." C.Smith with BuySafe.com states that egameuniverse is in violation of BuySafe.com policy- and per his website the Bonds are free, always free, as an incentive for security for the buyers, and never to be charged for. Further, the BOND is not insurance. The bond is protection against getting the "wrong item/bad item" nothing more. Further, Per C. Smith at Buysafe.com- egameuniverse/David Herzog or any representative of egameuniverse has not paid more than their normal dues for the bonds. Egameuniverse is profiting on fake insurance. Ebay has been made aware.

I've experienced similar behavior from eGameUniverse on eBay just like the complaint states. The 'insurance' charge that eGameUniverse requires does not pay for USPS insurance but instead is just pocketed directly by eGame. It amounts to making the seller pay more money just to get the product they already paid for without any reputable insurance company to back it up. If eGameUniverse chooses to ignore your insurance claim (like they did in my case), the buyer has no recourse to an impartial insurance company. I bought a 'New' game from eGameUniverse and it arrived in damaged condition with a chewed up and broken case. In spite of all the smooth-tongued talk by eGameUniverse representatives here, they ignored my emails asking for a replacement. I can't exactly drive to Massachusetts to ask for a $20 refund so I'm out of luck. In my experience, eGameUniverse is definitely an unscrupulous cash-cow. Their shipping and handling is well beyond the actual cost and their non-standard eBay checkout tries to trick you into 'subscribing' to get junk email advertisements by making a hidden 'yes, send me email offers' box checked by default. The checkout also makes you look at 'e-junk' ads like 'click here to get a free so-and-so' just to complete your order. If you are a decent, honorable company, then act like one. Describe your product's condition accurately, offer real insurance, charge actual shipping (tack 'handling' charges onto the game's price as overhead), and RESPOND TO COMPLAINTS with the respect that a customer is due.

This was report filed by my boss's Ex-Girlfriend. She also made 3 posts just like this.... It is unfair for her to slander my store because she is mad at my boss.

We do sell used items but we only send out items that have been tested or are in working condition. We bond all of our customers purchases with BuySafe. Saying that we don't insure our packages is a lie. I can't believe that this person had to resort to insulting the owner of the company to try and get their invalid and untrue point across.

Once again this information is untrue. We will be calling our lawyers and we will prove that only my ex-girlfriend knew about different company names we have (which is allowed and smart business decision) She knows we are a great company but she used this website to try and hurt me. If you have any questions call or email us and we guarantee you a great deal and a great price on anything we sell. If in MA, come down to our store as it is one of the best game stores in the country!! Notice how this persons complaints never say anything regarding an actual issue they had with us, they only make false statements regarding company practice. 508 620-9611 [email protected]
