Our tenants informed us that the garage had been broken so I called Garage Door Services to come out and do an estimate of work.  They actually showed up on time which was supprising seeing as how anything else that I have needed a technician for was always late, however I digress.  The gentlemen quoted me $864 to have to repair the entire garage door to include parts that needed to go along with it.

They did the work just fine and in a pretty timely manner, however, our tenants notified us that the garage door operator (opener) was not working.  So being that I was currently unavailable, my wife went to the house to see exactly what the problem was.  She sent me a picture because she was unsure what she was looking for, and to my dismay they had not installed the trolly and j-arm which the operator needs in order to actually work to open and close the door.  So immediately I called the company to let them know of the situation and they said that they could have someone out there the next day between a certain time.

Once the installer arrived at the house, my wife was there with our tenants to make sure that everything went smoothly.  Upon his inspection, he told my wife that the two items were missing and that it would be close to about $300 for parts and labor, when in that same installers first quote for the damaged door, the items were included in the total quote of $864.

I told him that I was not autherizing said installation and to just take off.  Once I got off the phone with him, I called the company to complain of the situation and they said that they would have a supervisor call me back.  30 minutes later I still had not recieved a call so I called them back and immediatelyl was placed on the line with a supervisor.  Said supervisor looked over the original quote, mind you I was also looking at the same quote so as we would be on the same page since I the customer had to e-mail him the Supervisor said quote, and he goes on to tell me that he sees nothing in the quote that involves any of these parts being part of the quote or installation.

I proceed to ask if there is any other person(s) that I can speak with and he informs me that I would not be able to talk to anyone other than him, as if he had complete control of the company.  So I continue to ask for other management and also for the VP and President of the company and a phone at which I could reach them at and he would not give me any such information.  I also asked what his company policies were toward customer questions and he again would not tell me, I asked where I could find such policies and he would not give them to me, defending it as if they were classified documents.

After getting off the line with him, I proceed to call the corporate number in San Diego and I was immediately put on hold, the customer service rep came back on the line and I immediately asked for a supervisor name, not to speak to one but just a name, and he refused to do so and put me on hold for 10 minutes and I haven't spoken to the company since.  This company seems to be completley fraudelent in all aspects of the word.
