On July 23, 2013 - I called the number on the sticker I had on my garage wall for door services. GDS has apparently bought out previous company and told me that they would send someone the next day to get my door fixed, as sending someone at 12AM would have doubled the cost, which I ended up paying for anyway it seems like.

 

Tim came over on July 24 and after looking at the problem quoted me $1000 repair cost. I told him for that amount I should just buy a brand new door and he said, oh no don't. All parts are lifetime warranty, you're better off with the repair instead of a new  door. Idiot me believed him and desperate as I was to get the door closing again, went for it. Come to find out the actual cost to repair torsion cable is about $100-$200. The part itself only costs $7-$10 and I was charged $100 by GDS. Cost of Torsion Springs are between $20-$80, GDS charged me $150 each for 2 springs, total of $300. Their labor cost was $487.00 for 90min -2 hrs. work. I have never met someone so dishonest and ready to take advantage of their customers desperation as GDS. I have emailed them asking back for the difference, but haven't hear back yet. If I don't hear back from them within the next couple of days, I will take them to small claims court.
