I purchased a 15" LCD monitor from Fry's in Anaheim, CA back in November with a $90.00 rebate that was supposed to have been paid in 10-12 weeks. After checking online at their website (www.wheresmyrebate.com) and it said the rebate was approved and supposed to be sent back in February. I started calling and calling, each time I spoke to "Annette" in their "rebate dept" who keeps giving me the runaround and telling me "we're waiting to hear from our processing dept in New York". She promised to call me and never did, again today (5/28/02) she told me the same story.

At this point I don't believe anything that I'm being told. My rebate was approved MONTHS ago and they don't send it. I am going to file a complaint with the FTC (for consumer fraud), with the state attorney general's office, and the BBB for the non-fullfillment of their rebate.

All the company does is give you the runaround and the same story time after time when you call to try to find out what is going on. I think I have been MORE than reasonable and patient waiting for my promised (and approved) rebate - there is no excuse for not paying it out - they can't say something was wrong with my submission, as their own website plainly and clearly stated that it was approved a LONG TIME AGO!

This is fraud and a consumer rip-off, pure and simple. I expect a clear, concise reply on just exactly why I am not getting the rebate that I should have gotten months ago, without excuses or lies. I complied with every part of my purchase and rebate agreement, and I fully expect your company to do the same, and treat customers with fairness and respect.

I await your reply.

Finally!!!!

They finally contacted me after 6 months and said the check was in the mail - believe it or not, they actually sent the money after half a year, and I was told "there was a problem with invoices" whatever that's supposed to mean to me. All I know is, they didn't send it within the time promised (8-10 weeks). I can't believe they finally sent it - only after many calls (long distance) and threats of reporting them, only then did they send it. I'd think twice (or three or four) times before buying anything from this company ever again. I'm curious if anyone else out there didn't get their rebate from them. If you didn't, don't give up, be persistent, and take it to the next level if you can't get action.
