General Revenue Corporation contacted me for my girlfriends debt. I am not the consumer, and when I asked him specificly if he is with a collection agency, he refused to answer. According to the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) they have to identify themselves as a debt collector to a 3rd party if specificly asked if they are indeed a debt collector.

The only way that consumers are going to get the message through to these bottom feeding collection agencies that make their living by feeding on the consumer that does not know their rights, is to start filing law suits! I have worked both ends of the collection business, I know what it takes!

For those of you that are unsure about your rights go to www.creditinfocenter.com. Stop letting ignorance of your rights as a consumer be their license to print money!! Start making complaints to your state's attorney general's office, start making complaints to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), and for God's sake, start filing suit against these predatory collectors.

**Are you aware that for each and every violation of the FDCPA that it is a $2000 penalty plus pain and suffering, your reasonable attorney fees, and court costs??

**Are you aware that the term "harrassment" is not defined in the FDCPA? In the language of the FDCPA harrassment is any act or action that makes any person feel that they have been harrassed! (by the way, harrassment is a violation of the FDCPA!!)

**Are you aware that on average, 1 collection agency is shut down for good due to constant violations of the FDCPA?? Think About it!!
