Went to General RV with family to look at Travel Trailers, my wife and I decided on Brand New Keystone Summerland, Salesman said they would have ready for tomorrow pickup so we could go camping. Friday recieved call from General RV stating that the flooring was ripped from screws on slide out but that they order new floor and repair after our trip.

I purchased Brand New Travel trailer from General RV on Friday June 21, 2013. Power tongue jack light not working, trim on fridge fell off, exterior light not working, latch on storage compartment stripped will not tighten up, all first day of use! I emailed salesman. Went camping until June 26, 2013 (5 days).

Brought trailer home leveled and opened slide out, rained Thursday Night June 27 - slide out leaked BAD. Table ruined, all wood ruined peeling, floor where ripped particle board fully saturated, all cushions and carpeting fully saturated.

I had trailer for 6 days!

Found out that tire that had flat when we went to pick up trailer is flat again, this is after I was told that it was replaced from another unit, coinsidence? I think not!

Bottom Line - Manager Mike Thrower would not even respond to my email or  speak with me when I brought trailer in Saturday  June 29. salesman is trying the old "Bate and switch".Put me in another trailer for $2000.00 more out of my pocket and increase my monthly payment by $36.00.

I would think that General RV would go to bat for there customer with the manufacture to get a replacement especially with a BRand New trailer with all of these problems, but it is appearant that once you purchase from them and they get there money they do not care about the customer - after all they are the Largest Dealer. They are making money off of the high turn over rate and not repeat customers.

More to come!

Jon,

The story that has been laid out before you is true, I could have actually written more but I believe the main point is out there!

You are correct that NO One should have to have these problems with a new unit! I did purchase the $1700 (ball park) 5 yr. Cornerstone warranty, as well as the original manufacture warranty. The manufacture "Keystone" should have some sort of QC - Quality Control in place so that "units" with problems do not leave their facility and totally !@#? the consumer!

Now my family and I are left holding the bag, because of a poorly built / managed product! Whom is backed by the dealers who continue to sell it.

Seems to me that a large volume - Nation Wide Dealer would be able to implement the proper leverage to said manufacture for the proper replacement of 6 day old camper instead of allowing hack repairs. (I can go into details) but I will wait and document all.

Now, as it stands- at best, I get to pay $21,000 + on a trailer that is in less than NEW condition, oh that’s right I forgot once you sign the papers and the title is in your name it becomes USED  even after 6 days!,

Oh shucks - I forgot I haven't even received the Title yet or the permanent License. Plate, I still have the temp paper license plate on the back of the RV.

I also get to, not have use of my trailer while any and all repairs are done! I am loosing fuel costs, my time, energy for problems that I should not have with a New "unit" i.e. Keystone - Summerland 2013 model.

I am awaiting contact from your representative. I do not, however wish to have someone call me and just breath in my ear.

To regain any trust from me, my family, bus associates or anyone else that wants to see and hear about my wonderfully awful purchase, some meaningful steps will have to be taken.

My family and I need to see this brand new 2013 Camper everyday on our property and feel proud of what we have worked hard for, not feel embarrassed, let down and taken advantage of.

As for trust- “actions speak louder than words”

Hello,

My name is Jon, and I handle all of the online customer service and marketing for General RV at the corporate level. I want to appologize for your experience with your new RV. No customer should have to go through this on a brand new unit. If the story you lay forth here is correct all of this should be covered under your manufacturer warranty. I have sent your message on to multiple people that can help you, including one of our National Sales Managers. You will be hearing from someone soon. Please contact me at [email protected] if you have any further guestions. We look forward to regaining your trust.

Sincerely,

Jon
