I agreed to send lab work to this company based on their PrePay Agreement to take an up front payment as payment in full regardless of whether or not they could collect any additional money from my insurance company. They waited months after the testing was completed and then started sending bills trying to collect an additonal 368.00. They basically said one thing up front and then changed that when they knew they were unlikely to be able to collect anything additional from my insurance carrier.

I would very much like to hear from any others who have been taken in by this lab as well as any attorneys willing to take on a class action suit against them for this practice. Please post here if you have had a similar experience. We need to put a stop to them.

Don't Pay Bill

I sent an analysis to Diagnostics per my Doctor's request and paid the prepaid amount of $99.00 and did not submit insurance information because my Doc said they will not cover this lab. However, I was not informed that I would be charged an additional fee until I received a bill for $295.00. I called customer service and they informed me that I needed a diagnostic code to submit to the insurance company, so I did. I paid the balance hoping I would be reimbursed by my insurance company and since they are out of the network they did not. I called and requested a refund and the company refused to give me one because I mistakenly filled out the information. I tried  giving  the correct information via phone but the customer service representative said it was too late.

Bottom line my doctor said that they are trying to go around some insurance rule by requesting money from the patient. The customer service rep said that they will make an attempt to collect from the patient twice and if they receive nothing then they will not try to collect after the second attempt. Yes, that is correct. So, here. I am trying to prevent my debt from going to collections and this will not happen. What??? This is their way of having a "good faith" attempt in the eyes of the insurance company.

So my advice is to prepay the required price your doc gives you and ignore the next two bills that follow. For those of you who don't pay your bills than this is awesome and I wish I was told to do the same before I paid that extra $295.

Trust me I learned a huge lesson and this lab is a Ripoff.

Great Smokies was worth it for me

Over a decade ago, I was very ill, and many doctors could not provide any anwers.

An internist prescribed the great smokies test, and the results began my road to recovery.

Many other doctors continued to deny the reality of illness caused by bacteria and candida imbalance in the gut, but I addressed that issue, and became healthy again.

Ater a decade, I remember this test as being pivotal in my recovery. I am seeking it out today because my partner is showing symptoms of some sort of intestinal infection, and i am looking for a doctor who is sympathetic to the reality of gut health. Unfortunatlely, many doctors aren't, and they are indoctrinated to treat symptoms and prescribe meds.
