Me and my wife moved to (((REDACTED))) in Cedar Creek Texas we responded to an ad online craigslist for a duplex for rent $900 a month three weeks later it flooded here a major flood The landlord went out of town to days before the flood She told us it flooded a little bit only a little got in the closet and on your feet outside . It ended up flooding both of my cars which was a total loss and I was upside down it flooded in my bedroom and kitchen on August 19, 2016 the landlord said they don't care it's my problem there is mold in these houses I have pictures of it I have pictures of the spray that the man uses it some kind of mold spray. , , My neighbor got 18 inches in his House and the landlord still didn't care after they left and never return their deposit when the Red Cross was here to help us the landlord said she would make this right instead I have her on Recording saying it flooded like this three years ago and her using bad language against us The fire department did come and rescue them I have pictures of everything and recordings . ,
The landlord refuses to give me my deposit back and she told us verbally that we could have one months free rent so we could find somewhere else to live instead on September 3 they gave us an eviction notice and my court date is now on 19th September 2016. , , The landlord here has been very rude to us and refuses to help us in anyway I also lost time off from work having to deal with this and try to find cars and remember I do have her on Recording so I am not making any of this up she did not honor the one months free rent or giving my deposit back I just spent $1800 to move in here that's not counting the U-Haul cost if anyone can help my family it would be greatly appreciated oh and by the way they just rented the one duplex that had 18 inches of water after he cleaned it up , We also think there is a IRS scam in which they only take cash in hand And the electric meter is for all the units are so we're not sure if they report this place as a rental property
