I sold my Gibson les Paul on eBay to Gibson dependabl. During the transaction there was a complaint filed against me due to the time it took to arrive. The guitar was sent during the Christmas season so mail was slow. While the case was filed  me against  it took about two weeks to get delivered. unfortunately when it was delivered, the post office services two different zip codes and  when the delivery was posted it reflected a different zip code.

I was told by eBay that due to the fact that it was delivered to a different zip, it was to the wrong address. After several attempts to contact Mr Ingram he would return my email. Had he told eBay he received it I would good to go. He decided to take the guitar and not pay for it. This doesn't sound like a sound business model to me. Eventually custompers will catch on to his scams and deceit.

I find the rebuttle interesting since the issues that they are discussing don't even pertain to my case or time frame. Also, I'm suprised that I got a responce, since I never recieved one while I was trying to contact Gibson Dependable or Dependable Gibson (whatever you go by) about this issue when it was happening. I am not making a false claim about this store and I speak on facts. I did a lot research about that area and post offices and I have confirmation that it was delivered.

The issue arose when the package was delivered to the correct street address, but different zip code.  You see, the post office in that area sevices two zip codes, when the package was delivered it was reported under the other zip code which did not match my tracking address which was the Carneys Point zip.

This makes it easy for EBAy to say that it was delivered to the wrong address and favoring the buyer. It's a nice little loop hole.

When I shipped the guitar I did not use the Ebay shipping labels. I used the address the the buyer had in Paypal, this matched the address I had on file for GibsonDependable/Ryan Ingram since this is not the first time he/they have purchased a guitar from me and I had purchased parts from them. I had no issue when I shipped a Gibson SG to the same address.

The claim of Ebay's labels causing problems may be true, but I could care less because I did not use the Ebay shipping lable service.  Nor do I care about GPS tracking because the USPS was not using this at this time.  I spoke to the post master as well, he was very helpful supporting me by drafting a letter identifing the fact that the post offices uses two zip codes and he had some intersting comments. He did make it clear that he and his staff were very familiar with Mr Ingram and his business.

The odds of packages being delivered to the wrong address in a small community like that are slim. I used to work at a post office and more often than not when people recieve mail that's not their's they tend to return it or bring it to the mail carriers attention.

In closing, by my account, if there had been better communication during the transaction things might have fared better for me, but you chose to stay silent and let this swing your way. I'm out a guitar and $1000. Ebay did not refund you, I did!

Unfortunatly this Ebay seller is making a false claim against our store based on opinion nd not fact. In truth we never recieved the guitar we purchased from them. We had to file a claim through Ebay buyer protection for not having recieved the guitar. In the end Ebay refunded us because the USPS tracking on the package showed that we never recieved it and USPS documentation supported this claim. Sadly this situation was not due to any fault on our part or on the sellers part, but rather due to an issue within Ebay's shipping label service. Starting in October we started seeing packages showing up as delivered in our zip code, but that never actually delivered. This happened 4 times between october asnd December. In each case our USPS Postmaster printed out documentation showing the GPS delivery locations of those packages to addresses within a mile of our residence. In several cases we were able to locate the actual packages with the tracking numbers on them and in each case the packages were not the actual package from the seller to us, but from someone else to that residence. In time we came upon the conclusion that there has to be an issue between Ebay and USPS with the shipping label process. The labels generated for the sellers were actually labels generated by USPS for other USPS customers. I know, sounds crazy right. We see no other way to explain what was happening with these packages. The strange thing is we don't know what ever happened to those lost packages. The packages delivering to other local addresses weren't the packages sent by the sellers. Each time this situation happened we tried to get it through to Ebay that it was happening. Unfortunatly Ebay has no real good way to report such a major issue and our Postmaster also couldn't find anyone within their system to report the problem to. We since then began contacting the sellers after payment to make sure they were aware of the issue and to check the printed label before shipping to see that it matched our actual address. Since then we haven't had any packages disappear thus far. Ebayer sellers, be aware that ther label you print our through Ebay may not have the correct addresses on it. Always compare those addresses to the ones Ebaty has on file for that buyer. The best thing to do is to create your label off Ebay. Since all our labels are printed out through Stamps.com we never had this issue happen with any packages we shipped. It only happened with packages shipped to use using labels printed out through Ebay.
