Gift Card Spread Fraudulent card sold to me and not refunded Chicago IL
I purchased a gift card from Gift Card Spread for Office Depot with a face value of $81.30. I used it once but not for the total amount. When I went to use the remainder, it was gone. I spent much time and effort dealing with Office Depot directly and discovered that someone I did not know who lived in another state (I live in ID and he was in LA) had used it, giving his name and showing identification to pick it up in LA!
I immediately contacted Gift Card Spread to ask for a refund, giving them all the evidence I had obtained. They refused because their policy only allowed me to initiate a dispute in a specific number of days after purchasing the gift card. They had an exception to this policy in the case of fraud. I asked them to issue an exception and look into my issue, having been a longstanding customer with no previous complaints.
That's when they stopped communicating with me. They have no customer service phone number and rely on emails and online complaint forms only. I filled these out continually but they only sent pre-written responses and never looked into the situation for me. In the past month, they've been ignoring my emails completely. I am not asking for the full amount - only the amount that was stolen. Nothing.
