Gilman And Cioccia ripoff incorrect tax filing, refused to return calls or recitify problem Toms River New Jersey
My husband and I had our taxes done by this company in 2001. We recieved a letter from the IRS in September of 2003 stating that we did not enter the correct amount or our total earnings and we recieved 700.00 over pay. We were advised by the IRS that we had to pay 900.00 which included the penalties and interest.
I contacted the accountants office immediatly and explained the problem. I was told that the person who prepared my taxes would get back to me that day. I made numerous calls over a 2 week period in which the secretary was rude and unhelpful, I was told that the company did make an error, and that they would pay me the penalties and interest the IRS was charging me due to their error.
I waited again for a week period without hearing from anyone in the office, and called back to be told that since their office made the error they were willing to prepare my taxes this year at no cost to me. I asked about the earlier call in which I would be recieving payment, and was told that they were not going to give me money after all. She explained to me that getting my taxes done with no charge would be the same as paying me money. I paid 150.00 to have my taxes prepared, and then had to pay the IRS additional money because they didn't take the time to fill out my paperwork correctly. And I paid a professional to prepare my taxes why???
