DO NOT mistake Global Moving Systems (GMS), Port Charlotte, FL for the reputable Global Moving Systems that operate out of Springfield, VA. Myself and many others have and suffered greatly.

GMS, FL does not have an internet presence other than on review sites. I can only conclude the reason for this is to trade off the glowing reviews left for the reputable GMS in Springfield, VA. DO NOT trust a Google search of this company, dig deeper and look at the review sites and BBB.

GMS, FL is a scam company, as all the other reviews will testify. They will beg and plead for your business, provide you with a hugely under-priced quote, and promise you a red carpet service.

They DO NOT hold the A+ rating which they advertise, they have an F. They are not even accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) - they're that bad. This is the first of many lies from this company.

They claim "We are the carrier not a broker. All our moves are performed by our own fleet of trucks". This is completely false. THEY ARE NOT a carrier, THEY ARE a broker. Our move was subcontracted.

Robert Igneri, the owner, has left a glowing review for himself, on Google (May 2018). This demonstrates a level of desperation.

I had various brief telephone conversations with Robert and he never failed to exert a high level of hostility and belligerents towards me. All of these conversations had the same theme;

"I have no information for you"

"I don't have an email" or "I don't have an email that I check"

"I'll call you back in a few hours"

"I'm waiting on a phone call"

"Customer service aren't involved in your move any more, forget about them"

"I'm at the doctors"

"I'm about to get on a plane"

This company will not communicate by email, as then they can be held accountable for their lies.

Pickup of our goods is shambolic as they try to force us to accommodate them a day early, then turn up 8hrs early on the agreed day.

During pickup, our boxes and furniture are treated with little care and become damaged immediately. Because we packed them ourselves GMS have no liability for the content, of which they make you very aware.  All can be evidenced via photos and videos. I highlight the damage to the driver and ask his team to take a little more care with our belongings. His response, "Where I don't see any?" He wont let me on the back of the truck to point out the damage as he feeds me some line about insurance liability.

The paperwork that they are mandated to give you before they even load the truck doesn't come out until all our worldly possessions are on-board. The price quoted has gone up by $400-600. Apparently we have more items than they estimated because they were sticking 2-3 stickers on one item. I question why we are given a weight and volume estimate if we're actually paying for quantity of variable sized boxes. The driver states, "you're paying more as you have more boxes". So if I have 100 matchboxes you'd price gauge me even more? The driver then can't make up his mind as to how the pricing works, is it quantity, weight or volume? He has no clue.

We were also charged an extra $100 for a "long walk". Our apartment was next to the service elevator and the truck was parked barely 30-40ft away at the ground floor.

I want our belongings off the truck. The driver states that's an extra $100 dollar fee  and that we will still be contractually liable for the full amount as we are the ones cancelling the move. It's 1600hrs on a Friday and we leave our apartment the next morning, we have no choice and he knows it. We reluctantly sign the contract and the driver states again We'll be seeing our belongings on the 09th.

There was never an intention of delivering our belongings on May 09th, our belongings didn't turn up for another 6 weeks. All the time we're being lied to by the owner as to where they are, Vicki wont return emails or phone calls and they leave you with a level of anxiety and emotional distress that interrupts daily life. This company demonstrates a level of incompetence you didn't know existed.

Delivery of our items was just as painful. We had to unload our own belongings, as the locally hired/contracted movers didn't turn up. The driver and tractor was from a company called "MJ Relocation" and the trailer was from "Unlimited Moving Services" - And they have the audacity to claim all moves are in-house.

Our motorbike is no longer road-worthy due to the damage caused. The majority of our kitchenware has been smashed, furniture items are damaged and we only received 85% of our belongings. (4 boxes and 2 furniture pieces are "missing")

The driver is just as hostile as Robert and Vicki, and he held our goods hostage until he got the full amount owed in cash (illegal). He became aggressive, threatening a female, and we had to seek police presence.

Needless to say, this nightmare is far from over but now we have all the evidence and backing for a lawsuit
