Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In mid July I recieved a phone call from a telemarketer (which I am still trying to figure out how that happened since my number is supposed to be on the do not call list) about Journey Pass and how you can save on travel, etc. I told them I wasn't interested and she said you have a 14 day trial period to review the packet at no cost to you (except postage, I think).

The scary part is that they had my CC info on file from something else I had purchased from an affiliate company I can only assume at this point.

Well I received the packet of info in the mail, which was postmarked July 21, 2008, on or about July 25th. I was unable to review the packet until this week. Well of course the 14 days had past, but I called anyway and said I wasn't interested in this service. Like most people, I thought, I'll say yes, I have 14 days to review and can call back to cancel.

Well, life happens and the next thing you know, you are on day 15 or 16 and finally call and what do you know...too bad for me.

So I call anyway and the idiot on the phone said you did not read the terms and conditions as you did not respond within the TEN days they said I was told over the phone. No refunda are givien. I said this is a ripoff and how much is this going to cost me? $99 !!!! I asked to speak to a manager and was told the manager is going to tell me the same thing. She did say she would listen to the tape recording of my sales call to see what I was told and call me back. We'll see if that happens! NOT!

I quickly read the terms and conditions at the back of the Journey Pass Travel for Less and Get Rebates book (pgs 16 to 19) and these guys are good. They write all that legal mumbo jumbo...very impressive. Para 6 a.b.& c tell you all about how YOU cannot cancel and how YOU have to notify them at least 30 days PRIOR to your membership expiration if you want to cancel. and you can ONLY do that by phone and get a cancellation number. They will not take it via fax, email or in ANY written form. If YOU do not cancel the membership automatically renews.

I am not a lawyer but hope to heck a lawyer(s) look into this coompany. I have seen all the complaints here from folks who tried to use this service, how lousy it is and not worth a penny let alone $99. Even if I am stuck with it for a year I too will be at the mercy of lousy service and not getting what is sold ANNNDDD on top of it all I have to REMEMBER to mark MY calendar now so that I remember to CALL 30 DAYS before my membership expires so that it doesn't automatically renew. How absurd is that!!!

Lawyers, HELP!!! There has to be a loop hole in this somewhere. Item J. Florida law governs these terms and conditions...These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed and enforced IAW the internal laws of state of Florida without regard to priniciples of conflicts of law. Alrighty then....

BTW: here's the real kicker at the end of the Terms and Conditions:

"These Terms, the Program and pricing are subject to change without notice.!"

How convenient is that?!!!!

Well believe it or not, I just got a call from 'John' a 'manager' from Global Travel International, Inc DBA Journey Pass. Lucky for me my cc was declined or I would have been out the $99 for the membership as opposed to the $4.95 trial fee. I told him I just read a plethera of info on this company and it is scary to think they do folks like this...He said we have been in business for 14 years and are reputable company and what I am reading about is a lot of copy cat companies out there who are ripping people off. I told him that is probably a true statement but what really scares me is that he had my cc info. He said they get those from 'marketing partners' who sell that info and you have to be careful about how you use your cc over phone and online. Really??? DUH!!! I made a few suggestions one of which was to do damage control from these 'copy cat' companies if they (Journey Pass) are soooo reputable. He said thanks for the suggestion. Bottomline, I got lucky that my cc had expired and therefore the fee was declined and that I called when I did. My warning to all...if you get a call or an email from these kinds of companies..hang up...that is the best defense....
