Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
When I attemted to contact GVN, again on my vacation plans I came accross the Rip_Off reports. WHAT AN EYE-OPENER. We signed a GVN, vacation package, in July of 2008. Like the first report I read from Gwardy, Colorado dated 9-5-08, my experience was almost an exact duplicate. After 4 or 5 high pressure sales pithces with each one the best offer we refused till the last deal was presented. I stiil said no but my wife had a change, because it seemed "TO GOOD TO BE TRUE." The Salesperson said that GVN packages were used on TV game shows like Wheel of Fortune, that turned her mind. They started processing and took deposit of $146.00, Once they realized my wife was part time, they had me sign as like a co-signer. SHOULD HAVE SEEN RED FLAG. Now she is getting electronic deductions every month of $71.00. I am not on her account.

We have called repeatedly to cancel this agreement and were met with the remarks that it was past the time and nothing could be done. Threatened to close the checking account, they said its an agreement and they would get it from my accounts.

I have been trying to arrange dates for my free Mexican Vacation, but after reading some of the horror stories I will request my money back. I also was set up for the free gas program which I started in Oct. 2008 and mailed thru Feb. with attached questions on why no $25.. rebates. Finally received a call to repick as that company closed.

Actually the only recent replies I have received is when I started e-mailing them on resorts I want to vacation at, and am receiving same run around as Gwardy.

We want out of this program, since it will in no way serve our needs and we were falsely lead on to believe in there ability to upgrade our vacations. In these rough times with jobs dropping in the Detroit area, I may soon be out of work and stuck with a vacation plan that I cannot use and cannot afford.

Calling the office in Macomb township is a waste of time. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you

Alan

Has anyone gotten their money back from this scam

im not denying its a legit company.  In fact I have never used my newly 1 month old purchase.  A long story short, I am no longer able to use this membership.  I have not even paid the first bill yet and they WILL NOT cancel my membership.  They have my deposit that they can keep, I have never used the services, no money out of their pockets, and they still won't cancel.  Not to mention when I do call and talk this company, they are extremely rude and have NO compassion for my situation.

The product is 100% legitimate. I've been a member of this company for over 9 years and have taken over a dozen vacations with the network. I've also been an employee for over 4 years. Here are both sides of the story, consumer and employee. As a Global member, the benefits are great. As an employee I take pride in operating in honesty and integrity. GCI is a great company, but not perfect company. Companies are comprised of the imperfect people who run them. Want the truth about Global Connections, Inc., keep reading.

Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) a leader in the travel industry is headquartered in Overland Park, KS., has nearly 30 distributing offices throughout the country including Global Vacation Network (GVN) and Global Discovery Vacation (GDV). GCI is not a timeshare, but a licensed and bonded Full Service Travel Agency that owns a large number of its own properties. GCI is a member in good standing with the following industry agencies: VRMA (Vacation Rental Management Association), ARDA (American Resorts and Development Association), CARE (Cooperative Association of Resort Exchange), CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association), ARC (Airline Report Corporation) just to name a few.

For more information, check out their new web page: https://www.globaldiscoveryvacations.com/tLogin.aspx

A recent article in Resort Trades magazine reported "50% of respondents said they had no preference between a legacy and low-fair air carrier. Consumers care more about the price of the air ticket than the carrier. Translate this to the timeshare industry and it becomes obvious that price is what matters. If a consumer can purchase a timeshare from the developer for $20,000 or a similar product on the resale market for $5000 or $6,000... Why wouldn't they?" This is the Global way. As a consumer, my wife and I paid around $5,000 for a lifetime membership. As a consumer, we are 97% completely satisfied. Our last vacation was to Panama City Beach, FL where we stayed at the beautiful Wyndham Emerald Beach Resort & Spa in a 2 bdrm / 2 bath ocean front condo.

Follow the link to see our accommodations:

Our total cost for 8 day/7 night stay was less than $100 for the entire week. We pay a nominal, "optional" renewal fee once a year that entitles us to a set number of weeks of vacation at less than $100 each. We spent our 5th anniversary in December 2008 at Globals exclusively owned White Oaks Resort & Lodge in Gatlinburg, TN where we stayed in a two bedroom state of the art cabin.

The follow link gives you a video presentation of the resort. http://www.whiteoaklodgeandresort.com/great-taste-video.asp

Do the math and you'll quickly recognize Global Connections, Inc. is a great vacation investment.

I was deceived to join the program two years ago, and never use any benefit from them. Trying to get out of the program. This is the stupidest thing I have ever done in my whole life. Just want to get my money back, at least partially.

Ex global vacation network sale person/their a scam company

#7UPDATE EX-employee responds

I use to work for this company in Grand Rapids, and i quit because despise their training to the sales rep, anyone coming to this presentation are being set up for a scam,i had problems with the staff who encouraged us to lie about the so called free vacation and gas,and then we are to negotiate to the customers certain packages, and we were trained to deceive and mislead and role play that if we can not get the sale closed,it was scripted that we raise our hand and then one of the staff would come over to the table and pretend he was from the corporate office in Florida and then offer a deal that in most cases the consumer falls for.I became familiar with many of the people i met and felt bad, they contacted me and the staff found out and was furious and i got back at them about their practices and scams, they threatened to fire me ,but i quit and they was not aware that the had hired a Paralegal,so i immediately begin helping two other people and also i sued them and reached an out of court settlement with the owner and attorneys in Florida. Please anyone getting that offer stay away, the sales people are very well trained and they are paid commissioned based and must reach a certain qouta of sales a week or be fired so the people there are very slick and experienced and darn good and some of them are bought in from out of town to help the office sales.
