Purchased a Goodman AC Unit for my primary residence in 2010 and it broke 47 months later. I had to replace coil in 2014, and repairman is telling me I have to replace it again for another $1300 as it is leaking. I have spent $2033.95 so far and to replace coil again I will have to spend a total of $3,333.95 for a unit that is 4 years 3 months old. AC repair installer who sold the Goodman to me ( Contemporary Air) said I should just dump this Goodman and buy a Trane since this is system may just need new coils after new coils. I read many other reviews online that Goodman has problems with this system now that the new requirements came out in Florida. System Purchase Date & Install- 12/31/2010 - $5375.00
Failure Date & Repair Cost-11/24/2014 -$1303.35
Second Failure Date- 3/3/2015 -$730.95 and decision to install new coil.
Third Failure Date- April 2015- have yet to fix. System leaking
I contacted Goodman about 9 months ago and they wrote me a letter and said too bad you didn't buy the extended warranty as you are out of luck. Called them two days ago and they said they would have a Goodman rep reach out to my AC guy that installed it and they would get back to me. Yeah right.
