In early May of this year, my parents decided to have an in-ground pool installed in their backyard. On the recommendation of a neighbor, they contacted Mike Hoosline at Got Pools, Inc. to set up an appointment.

Mike had previously been an employee of another company, but had branched out on his own. He and his wife/office manager Kim came out to my parents' house to survey the property and give an estimate. After speaking withe Mike and Kim, my parents (foolishly) felt comfortable enough to sign a contract and put down a rather large deposit.

In that first week, Mike and his crew did come out to the house to cut down trees, grade the yard and have a 1500 lb fiberglass pool placed into the backyard. Things were progressing nicely. This was right after Memorial Day. Mike came out on a Wednesday and then proceeded to not come again for two weeks. His excuses were mundane enough in the beginning... rain, wet ground, etc. Then we discovered that he was actually doing two jobs at the same time and the job in Kennesaw (closer to his home) which was supposed to have been finished was taking precedence.

Now, it's understandable if you have to complete work at one place in order to begin another job. The problem lies in the fact that Mike has repeatedly told my parents that he will be at the jobsite and then not show. He might call, or have someone call midday to report non-progress, but by this point, it doesn't matter.

My dad has lost three days of work waiting for Mike and his crew to show up and their two dogs have been locked up in the basement daily for the past three weeks. Mike did come out last Friday to lay the retaining wall. He readily reassured my parents that he was working all weekend to finish the other job and that their pool would take priority. My parents trusted what he said. It is now Thursday, he hasn't shown up all week and his unprofessionalism and ineptitude have taken whatever joy my parents might have found in the whole process.

Unfortunately, they were too trusting and paid him all but 10% of his fee. They did sign a contract, but there was not length of service stipulation. So they are stuck. They want the pool finished and still hate to see the bad in anyone, but they're basically being d**ked around by Mike and Kim Hoosline and Got Pools, Inc.

I've asked the owners of this site to remove my original complaint, as it was something that I should have not submitted in the first place. My request has been denied, as have the requests of both of my parents, in rather rude terms from the owner of this site. That is a total of three requests for removal that have been rejected.

I owe Got Pools an apology. I was rash in submitting this report and should have minded my own business. My parents have the working relationship with this business and it is not my place to interfere. They have resolved their issues and the work will be completed on time and to the satisfaction of all parties. Thank you for letting me vent, I do appreciate it.
